Y/N POV

It had been a few days since the meeting and every day Jarold was bringing Bailey to my house. She REALLY wanted to spend time with us. My stepmom couldn't do it for obvious reasons and my dad was sorta reluctant. To my surprise, it wasn't the champions I had a hard time feeding, it was her. Bailey could put away some food. I'm glad I taught her to not be picky but this is getting out of hand. At least mom is sending me money to cover the grocery bills. I guess she had to learn quickly that Bailey likes to eat. Hopefully, she keeps that monster metabolism. I'd hate for her to gain too much weight at her age unless she really wanted to gain some. I'm sure Sonya would be ecstatic to get her to work out with her and Treyvon.

I sigh a little as I hoist the bags up a little. Since I decided to go to the store after school I had some help in the form of Sonya who was carrying I think six bags by herself while I only had three. There was one primary issue with the two of us carrying stuff. The walk home was a little further than from school and it was just the two of us. Meaning, if we get pulled over by someone looking for trouble, we'll have problems. It also doesn't help we have to carry them pretty far. My arms might be a little sore after this.

Sonya: So what's on the Friday night menu?

Y/N: I was planning on either Lasagna or Beef Stroganoff.

I could hear Dustin finishing the joke now. Sonya nodded and let out a little yawn.

Sonya: I guess the other becomes tomorrow's dinner?

Y/N: Yeah, that's why I'm leaning toward Lasagna tonight.  The Stroganoff might be better for after the workout.

Sonya: Speaking of workout! Me and Treyvon already have a few workout plans we could get you into. We just need to know your schedule and how much you can take before needing a break.

Y/N: Wait, wouldn't either of you know my limit just from looking at me?

Sonya: Well, given what your life has become, it's best to assume that you're a little bit stronger than you appear.

I guess that's fair. Before we could continue any further, I note the person behind us. I saw them back at the store and they've been following us ever since. I kinda wanted to hurry home since this may just be one person of a group. Sonya's tough but she can't take down everyone she sees. Sonya then took notice as well and turned to face them.

Sonya: Can we help you?

Shady Person: Ah no. I was just heading on. Now that I look at it though, you two look like you can use a hand.

Sonya and I exchanged glances, knowing exactly what this was about. With how rugged their face was and the fact they sounded like a smoker, I wouldn't be surprised if it was some sort of snatcher. However, their sudden confusion drew my attention to my hand. The marking was glowing brightly which means one of the champs was nearby. Ahri then came into view and immediately came up to us.

Ahri: Looks like I caught up just in time.

She then eyes the shady person and winks at them. This made them incredibly nervous.

Shady Person: Um... know what? Never mind, forget I said anything.

They turned and left, leaving three of us be.

Ahri: I'm surprised we don't see more crime. Guess 2022 is a slow year for Ohio issues.

Sonya: Everyone and their mother who lives in Ohio prefers it that way. Course, that could just be for here.

Y/N: Listen, if one place in Ohio is better than the rest, I always hope it's Dayton. I live here after all.

After a short laugh, we all then continue our walk home with the girls behind me. I tried to be a good samaritan and not eavesdrop but I couldn't exactly help it when they got louder.
