Y/N POV

We didn't have to wait in my chambers too long before a pair of Royal Guards came and escorted us to the Hall of Valor. Walking in here for the second time, I actually got to look around and see how nice the place is. One thing Demacia will always have over Noxus is design. It's a lot comfier here as opposed to Noxus looking like a castle for a final boss in an RPG. I guess when you think about it, that's more or less what it was based on. Mordekaiser does fit the bill really well. Hopefully, we never have to fight that final boss. Once we reach the throne, we all got on one knee with our heads down to honor his king Jarvan.

Jarvan: Rise. We have much to discuss.

As we got up, the two guards escorting us fell in line with the rest of them. Jarvan then looks at me specifically and gestured me forward. I step up to the first step and lock my eyes on him.

Jarvan: Fiora tells me you wish to be on the field despite being as skilled as a squire. Given the recent situation that you so humbly invited into our home, that puts you and your companions at risk. You know I cannot just allow you to roam with them unsupervised. Given how dangerous they are though, an entire battalion of men would not do.

Y/N: Despite knowing we wish to help Demacia?

That was a bit defiant of me since I spoke without being asked and both Garen and Xin Zhou knew it.

Y/N: I am here because I need to be here. Regardless of whether or not I have magic, I am here to help Demacia. Besides...

I look to Lux for a brief moment who immediately knew what I was thinking.

Y/N: I know things you deserve to know.

Jarvan squints his eyes at me while tightening his grip around Drakebane.

Y/N: Please, let me fight for this kingdom in full. These monsters want me and me alone. I won't have you put your own people at risk. The lockdown is already causing some panic, I'm sure.

Shyvana: There have been reports...

Jarvan glances back at her with a slightly saddened gaze. This could be proof that their companionship runs deeper than others might think. He then looks back at me with a serious gaze.

Jarvan: If you truly wish to fight for Demacia then I will need proof of your word.

Y/N: Name the task and I will do it.

Jarvan sets aside Drakebane and gestures to Xin Zhou. The bodyguard then hands his king a wrapped letter and tosses it to me. After catching it, I open it up to see it is a report from Quinn.

Jarvan: Since we've taken all the bandit camps in the surrounding region, our Ranger-Knight's have reported an increase in activity from the north. Another camp has risen. This one does not have just any sort of bandits. They're mages.

Y/N: Sylas...

Jarvan: My thoughts exactly. Your objective will be to infiltrate this camp and kill Sylas.

My eyes widen a little as I look back up at him. Facing Sylas is a rough move to make. What's worse is that I have no idea what will happen if he uses Hijack on me.

Kai'sa: If I may speak your Highness.

I snap my head back to Kai'sa as she pulls me away from the step.

Kai'sa: Knowing just what lies outside the walls, you would be sending him on something akin to a suicide mission. This isn't a way to prove loyalty, this is a private execution.
