Arc V - Chapter 10

Y/N POV

A long yawn escapes my lips as I stretch out as best as I could. Sonya kept me in her arms and since I didn't want to wake her, I had to be careful stretching. Last thing I need is to hit her in the face or something. Wiggling out was a little difficult but I managed to escape her grasp and left the room. I thought about putting a pillow in my place but one, my pillows aren't big enough and two, I'm fairly certain that doesn't actually work.

I make my way downstairs and peek into the living room. When I didn't see Rakan I was a little concerned. Turns out, he was in the extra room. He was the only one too... I knew those two would be out for a little bit but the fact that they didn't come back at all last night really concerns me. I go back upstairs to check my phone and as I enter the room, I see Sonya waking up.

Sonya: Baaaabyyyyy....!

Y/N: H-hey.

Sonya: Come back to beeeed....!

Y/N: I can't. I gotta make breakfast and check in with the others.

Sonya: Can't that waaait...?

Y/N: No, I'm sorry.

Sonya grumbles and plants her face back into the pillow. She then let out the longest, loudest groan. Part of me wanted to cave in but all of me knew it was a trap. The moment I get too close, she'll lash out at me like a snake and ensnare me in her coils. The idea was tempting though.

Y/N: Look, I need to call Kai'sa and make sure everything is alright. Neither she nor Teemo came back last night and I'm worried.

She turns toward me, this time with a groggy but understanding glance.

Y/N: I'll be sure to make the best pancakes for you if you let me go.

She has a mental grasp on me, I will admit.

Sonya: Fine... You better not take long though...

Y/N: I won't.

As I leave the room and head down to the kitchen, I dial up Kai'sa and silently pray that she answers. After a few rings, it goes straight to voicemail. I call again and this time I get an answer.

Kai'sa: I don't have much time to talk. Are you alright?

Y/N: Yes! Are you?

Kai'sa: I could be better. Evelynn's preference has changed and she was stalking your mother last night.

Oh god!

Y/N: Is she alright?!

Kai'sa: She's fine but she may suffer from sleep deprivation if we don't relocate her. Evelynn is still in the area though, waiting for her opportunity.

Come on Y/N, think! Where is a safe place?... My stepmom's penthouse! While the guards and position may not be the best help, being on the ground where Evelynn is more likely to be is not the safer option.

Y/N: Listen, I'm gonna call my stepmom and see if she'll let her stay at the penthouse. I need you to try and prevent Evelynn from getting involved in the escort.

Kai'sa: Then I'll leave Teemo with her just to be sure.

Must have stuck with her last night. Wait, how did they know Evelynn was near... Never mind, focus on the problem Y/N.

Y/N: Please, if things get dicey, don't hesitate to...

Kai'sa: Don't worry. Everything will be fine. I promise.
