Blue's POV:
I could tell Layla was watching me from the corner of her eye. She realised I was about to say something as her expression changed from uncaring, to worried. She quickly replied before I could.
"Sorry sir I just figured you wanted pizza on time today and without any glass or blood dripping into the dough. You were also assigned as my guard so I was making sure you wouldn't get into trouble if someone saw me elsewhere, doing something I shouldn't be.. by accident of course."
Stuart's expression changed from angry, to confused, to shocked and then relieved before he nodded. "Well I suppose you do have a point, but I'd like her to still make the dough.."
"May.. um.." Layla began to stutter but looking in her eyes, all I could feel was confidence and smugness coming from her. It was skilfully hidden beneath a fearful mask that anyone but me would fall for. It was then I realised she was playing him. She was making him like her by pretending to help 'him' to get her way. "May I please suggest something sir?"
Once Stuart nodded she continued. "Can I take her to the bathroom to quickly cover her wounds?" Just as he looked ready to disagree she quickly continued; "So no one ends up with glass in their food. I can't imagine what would happen to the three of us if Mr Jeff took a bite full of glass or blood."
Stuart's eyes widened before he crossed his arms. "Very well you do have a point. Make it quick.. I'll wait here."
He watched as we walked into the hall disappearing behind the bathroom door. I stood frozen in shock as she pulled out a pair of tweezers that we use to debone fish, and made quick work of removing the glass from my face. When did she manage to grab that? She put the tweezers back in her bra and fished out a small cloth soaked in what smelt like vinegar. After cleaning my cheek and the deep cut on my arm, she placed a bandage around it. A large square gauze was placed on my cheek and tapped with medical tape that I didn't know we even had. Though I never went to this bathroom.
We exited the room and began the process of making the dough. I did all the kneading as per Stuart's firm instructions and Layla began to grate a large mountain of ham and cheese, placing them in several large zip lock bags that she then put in the fridge. She covered the bowls of dough with cling wrap, and a few dark towels before placing them around the warm charcoal that was used for the spit earlier. At Stuart's confused expression she smiled politely and made a hand signal that looked like an explosion. The scared look on Stuart's face before he realised she meant it would 'rise faster' was enough to almost make me laugh. Almost.
We cut the veggies that the girls picked from the garden, as the dough rose. Before I knew it, we had decorated and cooked half of the forty huge pizzas in record time. Once they were ready and placed in the dinning room, the guards all began eating. The last twenty were taken out as they were done keeping them hot and everyone satisfied.
While everyone was eating I chose to stay in the kitchen to finish the broth and begin making the soup. I added a bunch of spices since there were no guards in the kitchen watching, then added the left over meat, rice and vegetables from lunch. I let it simmer before making my way back out to serve Jeff drinks.
I walked out to see all the maids standing on the sidelines looking less happy than normal. It was then I noticed a few guards looked a little drunk, Stuart was also one of them. Even though a werewolf doesn't get effected by normal human alcohol, they lace it with very small amounts of wolfsbane to give them the same effects.
My eyes trailed down to the last pizza that they were stomping on. They then made the new maids place it in a plate for us to eat later. Clusters of ham, mushroom pineapple and capsicum was being scooped up along with dust and dirt from the guards boots.
Not even the cheese could salvage the look of this pizza.
