Chapter 58 - Fooled

Jaycees POV:

I come to, silently listening to my surroundings. My skin felt burnt around my throat but a cool chill ran through my body burrowing deeply into my bones. I was so cold.

"Sorry Jay, it's the side effect of us using so much power on Sadies memories." Frost whispers weakly in my mind. I hold in a groan trying to focus of the words bouncing around the large prison cell.

"Forced Blue?" Jeff frowned. "She also had pages of-"

"Oh well my fate is set now anyway, might as well tell you the truth." Stuart sighs catching Jeff's full attention. I lift my head slowly opening an eye to see everyone's attention on Stuart. No one even noticed me wake up.

"I may have forcefully shoved random pages down her bra, in case we got busted you know how it is. I needed Jaycee to take the fall. I also forced Black to cover for us using any means necessary, guess she asked the others for help." Stuart says shrugging. "Sorry Alpha, I was trying to spare you the extra pain and stress of finding out the truth.."

Stuart let the words hand in the air a few seconds before continuing. "I didn't plan for you making the link between Rachel and I, but you truly are a smart and worthy Alpha. It's been a pleasure working under you. Please just make it quick." He asks Jeff with a small smile.
Is Stuart trying to take the fall for us. Layla glanced Sadies way turning her head away from Stuart but I didn't miss the tears welling up in her eyes. She has grown a soft spot for the guy, unable to see Stuart's execution that is no doubt inevitable.

"Okay Stuart I'll make it quick.." Layla flinches closing her eyes, no doubt ignoring the other words spilling from Jeff's mouth. "Tell me why you did it, what truth were you sparing me from that was bad enough to brake your own mate bond?" Jeff asked curiously. He was falling for Stuart's words, and Layla was too emotional to pay attention.

"You.. you won't believe me anyway." He sighs sadly.

"Try me." Jeff insists. Even the other guard was looking at Stuart curiously. I hadn't seen him much before, he must belong to another area of the prison.

Stuart takes a deep breath. "I'll need to start at the beginning, please listen to everything before you kill me, or you will miss a lot of vital information." Jeff nods waiting for Stuart to continue.

"As you know Rachel is my mate. The mate bond is an extremely hard thing to ignore, and can drive a man to do things they wouldn't normally do. Things I am not proud of. It can be both a blessing and a curse in my case. She used to sneak away from her post, leaving her prisoner unguarded to surprise me."

I noticed Jeff's eyes turn black with rage but he waited for more.

"This was going to erupt quickly." Frost whispers to me.

"We would fuck around much to Blue and Black's disgust, Rachel loved to make them watch. Anyway I'm getting off topic. It took me a while to notice but every time we had sex, without fail, Fin would somehow catch us. It made no sense why he was so far from his post, also abandoning his responsibilities by going against his alpha's orders, but he would always blackmail me into letting Rachel spend the night with him. Rachel and I were scared of you finding out so my hands were tied. It took me too long to notice how much Rachel enjoyed time and attention from Fin and the other guards. It eventually became clear she set it up. She would plan for him to come so that she could get swept away. She didn't care that they were going against Alpha orders, and didn't care how much pain she was causing me. If anything, it made her feel desired when I'd become possessive the next day. She was addicted to both my and the other guards unending attention."
