Blue's POV:

"Why?"

The word was spoken so softly I almost missed it. I turned around to see Layla still awake and sitting in the exact same position on the blanket towards the back left of the cell. I crawled over embracing the warmth the blanket and Layla provided.

Lying on the stone cold ground again for those few hours had left me a shivering mess. It was nothing I wasn't used to, but now having the option of warmth, definitely made me notice and appreciate it more. My body was weakened which didn't help, but thanks to the food I was able to eat during the day, I felt a huge improvement in my bodies healing ability.

"I felt sorry for him I guess?" I whispered quietly into her ear, hearing the loud snores coming from Stuart meant we could finally talk. No one else was down here as they liked to keep prisoners separate and isolated.

"He deserves everything he got and more for hurting you." Her eyes flashed with the eyes of her wolf. I gasped in shock as the wolfsbane they inject into those with wolves, prevents our wolves from coming to the surface. She smiled as if sensing my thoughts.

"I have some strong alpha blood running through my veins, and I may have distracted them while they were administering the injections. Either way, now that we have found our future Alpha, my wolf feels stronger being around you." My eyes widened as my jaw hit the floor. Layla didn't just know me.. she was from my pack. It must be why I instinctively felt so protective of her.

I swallowed hard before speaking again. "Do you know my name?" I asked causing her eyes to widen. "You won't remember yours either tomorrow. They have a witch. She will be erasing my memories again in the afternoon. That's what I overheard."

"Jaycee, but I usually call you Jay. You were named after your uncle Jax who gave his life to save you and your mother when she was pregnant with you. Your father is the Alpha and is my mums brother. We have all been searching for you for almost two years since you were taken. Your parents aren't doing so great." The sadness I saw in her eyes made mine water. It was then I realised the little girl in my dream had the same name. "Alexa is my mother."

"How did you.." She looked at me curiously. "Yes, and your father is Zander."

"I've been having dreams. I think they are of my past. I just didn't make the link until now." Layla smiled at me before pulling out the pen and pumpkin skin with a smile. "We need to leave this somewhere we will find it once our memories are erased."

We spent the next twenty minutes writing clues on the orange pumpkin peel. We had to push the pen hard to scrape words through the softer side of the flesh, as the pen was in the bin and didn't have any ink. I wish I had been able to take more peels but it would have been too hard to hide. We hid them under the blanket again before going back to sleep.

...

The sun was out and the rays sent warmth through my skin. I felt so happy being outside, but something told me I preferred being in the water. It looked like time had passed as I seemed to stand a little taller than the little girl I often dreamed about. I also looked at the ground a lot, and didn't walk with confidence. A lot like how my life turned out in the prison. If I was the future Alpha shouldn't I feel confident and be standing tall?

A ball hit me in the face, one I hadn't seen coming. The pain in my nose and cheek made my eyes water against my control. My face throbbed and my nose tingled with pain and a strange numbness I hadn't felt before.

I looked to my right to see a group of teenagers laughing. They looked to have been around thirteen years old if I had to guess.

"Haha did you see the shock on her face Kyle!"
