Viren's POV:

As the girls made their way back to their cells, escorted by the guards, I headed towards Byron knowing it was really Coal. A quick wink confirmed it as he ushered me inside, closing the door behind me. I pressed my forehead against Coals allowing the memories to float from his mind into mine. Memorising every detail I walked over to the unconscious Byron planting them in his mind, before turning to Margo's frozen state.
"The wine worked perfectly. I made sure he witnessed Layla's fear and cry's before the potion took hold." Coal says as I plant the remaining memories into Margo's mind. He had essentially done everything to Layla that I had done to Jaycee, the illusion potion did great, only this time Margo has a different potion, one he wouldn't recognise and one that wouldn't leave a lasting taste in his mouths. Layla was splashed with the same one I gave to Jaycee, after Margo froze. The only difference was that Coal has used his blood to control the illusion making Layla see what he wanted her to see. Unfortunately he did need her to think she was raped this time, in order to get the accurate details as we couldn't afford any mistakes this late in the game.
Coal threw water at Margo just before Byron came to. It was the way one awoke from this trance. Water was always used when cleansing or awakening someone. It would give Coal an excuse to say Margo lost balance and fell, hitting the jug of water as he hit the floor. I placed the memory of him loosing his footing into Byron's mind also, in case it came up. He wasn't really one to stumble but I knew the potion I had used was unique. My mother had created it after all. If I had done what I did to Jeff, he would recognise the signs and know I tried to fool him. Today was the hardest and most riskiest of all so far. Coal and I left the room a fraction before Byron and Margo came too. Byron helped Margo off the ground making sure he was okay and talking to him about all the fun he just had. Everything seemed to be perfect. Margo hadn't even missed a beat, and went as far as to apologise for the mess.
As Coal hitched a ride on my shoulder I walked towards the lounge. A commotion to my right had me pausing.

"What the hell happened Serg? First you drain my parter, now one of my guards is dead while in your care!" Looking into the open door way to one of the bedrooms I see Serg talking with Jeff. The guard who attacked Jaycee earlier was laying limp at the ground.

"Firstly I think you forget your place Jeff." Serg's jaw and hands clenched before releasing. He was livid. I knew this because I did the exact same thing when I was struggling to reign in my temper. He was used to respect and obedience, not dealing with others tempers. "I was the vampire King only eighteen short years ago, and refuse to be spoken down to, by the likes of an Alpha, who has obtained his position because of others."

Serg must have hit a nerve as Jeff's body began to shake. I better stop this before something else happens today. The last thing I needed was extra attention.
"Now, now gentlemen what seems to be the problem?" I ask leaning my back against the doorframe.
"This guard got too close to my partner while I was raping her, and also flooded her with electric shocks through her collar using the hand held control. Naturally when he got close, she slit his throat."
My eyes wanted to widen and my beast felt elated by this new information. He wanted revenge for what de had done to Jaycee. I held my emotionless mask in place before shrugging. "Sounds like collateral damage to me. After what he did to Jaycee earlier, his lucky I didn't do it myself." I say making Jeff stiffen. "Jeff the guard told me he mindlinked you to confirm what was happening before his untimely death. I won't be risking anyone else in the room any other time, you have the proof you need. Am I making myself clear?"
Jeff reluctantly nods before pulls away. He orders another two guards to dispose of the body before closing the door behind him.
Serg approached me once Jeff clears the room. "Thank you for taking that pain in my ass, off my back."
I smirk. "I won't ask questions only because I wanted him dead." I say before taking a step closer to him. I reach up wiping a drop of blood from his unbuttoned chest, near his collar. Holding it out for him to see before speaking. "Next time clean the evidence. Lucky for you that one has a few screws loose, Margo on the other hand wouldn't have missed this and would have assumed you were a traitor." Serg's eyes widen as I turn to walk away. He grabs my arm quickly making me pause before I look over my shoulder.
"Thank you Viren, it seems I owe you a favour. Join me for dinner tonight so we can discuss it."
