Blue's POV:
I gasped greedily at the sudden oxygen I was now able to inhale. It quenched the burning sensation that had taken a root in my throat, providing me a moment of relief. After a few much needed deep breaths and at the slowing pace of my frantically beating heart I was able to open my eyes.
"Ah!" I shrieked crawling backwards, causing me to fall off the desk at the sight of the motionless body that stood in front of me. Jeff stood their frozen and pale still holding his dick that had begun to shrink in his hand. I had looked up into his eyes to see they were the only things moving.
The fear he felt was immense though still nothing compared to mine at the thought of what almost happened. His emotions were like a tiny drop in my vast ocean.
The intensity of mine were my own worst enemy, and I often wondered why they surpassed everyone else's. Maybe it's so I can differentiate between the two, or maybe my heart is just much bigger than the scum I'm forced to be surrounded by.
"Before being forced to come here today, I was advised of the one rule you all follow." A unfamiliar deep voice brought me out of my thoughts. Smooth like honey yet firm like a solid chest. "So imagine my surprise when I walk in to see you trying to break your only rule."
The anger that erupted from the mans voice had me flinching and refusing to look up. The last thing I needed was another beating. "Was one of your guards not executed last year for doing the exact same thing?"
A tense silence filled the room. Even without having a wolf I could hear not just my own heart beat, but Jeff's fluttering away. A feeling of satisfaction embedded itself deep beneath my skin, but even then I refused to let it show. The repercussions would be far worse than what I've already suffered.
"Oh sorry.." The man said, his voice dripping with both sarcasm and amusement. "I forgot you're not able to speak." With a click of his fingers I heard Jeff gasp for air, one knee hitting the ground on the other side of the desk. It was clear this man wasn't a wolf, but the power he excreted had almost felt like that of an Alpha's. If I had to guess, I would say he's a powerful mage.
A low menacing growl rumbled from Jeff's chest in rage, as he stood up. Surprisingly there was no shifting or fighting. He kept his mouth shut for a few seconds which was unlike him.
Who was this man, that even had Jeff biting his tongue? I curled in on myself, hiding behind the desk hoping they would both forget I was here. I couldn't deny my curiosity had been seized by this mystery man, though they were all the same around here. All they cared about was power, sex and pain.
"How dare you come into my office Viren!" Jeff's words were harsh but he spoke quietly, annoyance being the main emotion I picked up on. "You disrespect me in front of.." I froze realising they had both remembered me. "Out now Blue! I'll deal with you very soon." His words were harsh and full of promise.
I scurried to my feet, eyes still cast to the ground. As I maneuvered around the table heading towards the unknown man blocking the door, I did something I shouldn't have. Against my better judgement I let my curiosity get the better of me and raised my eyes. His sharp jaw line and purple flame like hair would have drawn me in instantly had I not locked onto his bright blue eyes. They were hypnotic and had a small purple ring surrounding his pupils. I knew it would have been overlooked by anyone else, but for some reason my eyes were drawn to his like a magnet. Unable to pull away or even blink.
"Out!" The man called Viren roared. What had my heart pounding against my chest like a wild beast trapped in a cage, wasn't his powerful aura of magic that filled the room or the sound of his anger as he ordered me to leave. No.. it was his emotions and how they didn't match his stance or tone of his voice in the slightest. I felt pity, sadness and an overwhelming wave of protectiveness wash over me. The force of it startled me to reality forcing my feet to step though the doorway. The depth of his emotions were the most I felt during my stay here. It was gone as quick as it came, simply an after thought as the door clicked shut behind me.
