Jaycee's POV:I take off after Sadie easily keeping up thanks to my comfy heels compared to her thin high heels. Just as she makes it towards the crowd she gasps as her right heel snaps sending her on a trajectory towards the soft grass below.
At a speed my eyes struggled to catch, Jet runs towards Sadie, catching her by her waist an inch before she hit the earth. Slowly he raises her, his eyes racking over her tight red dress and curves, before being drawn towards her dark red Smokey eyes. Strong desire swells in his eyes freezing on the spot. I stand there two meters away, and as Sadie's eyes turn my way I feel the unease and desperation to hide the truth from me.
"Jet, please.." Sadie rasps out a desperation in her eyes. Without waiting another second my eyes widen as his lips close the distance between hers. He sucks her bottom lip between his, slow and softly before his control began to slip. Her eyes widen in surprise obviously begging for something entirely different but soon her own desire takes root clearing her mind of any and all thoughts involving me.
It was their second kiss. The first being when he saved her after the river. The two had gone on to completely ignore the fact since then. I always caught depths of their desires growing up, but they were always too proud and stubborn to admit it to eachother. It could also be the fact that Jet was much older than Sadie but in the Vampire world time worked differently. Especially when Royal blood and a potential mate bond was involved which was something I had suspected for years now.
He hesitantly pulls away from her lips, his eyes still lingering on them with hunger. He grins at her dazed appearance and waits patiently for Sadie to blink back the fog.
"I knew it would always be you who came running into my arms begging for me."
Her eyes widen as if remembering everything. Her face turns towards me before looking back at Jet with desperation once more.
"I wasn't begging for you to kiss me Jet! She smacks his arm playfully. "I was begging for you to help me escape Jaycee. If she finds out now it will all be for nothing! I stuffed up." Her whispered words sober him up painting his face a pale shade of pink before his confusion morphs into a sight smirk.
My shoulders sag in defeat knowing there was no way I could interrupt their moment now. Turning away I head back towards Layla and Cassy, but not before hearing Jets last words. "We'll it seems I helped you with your problem. How about you help me with mine."
My eyes widen as Sadie gasps, before moaning out loud. I make sure to keep my eyes on Layla. Her shock and amusement felt more stable than Sadie and Jets arousal. My legs had already began to dampen. The last thing I needed was a repeat of the Lagoon when Viren's arousal became my own. He still believe it was all mine. I blush at the memory.
"That was so hot!" Cassy says sculling Champaign from a tall elegant glass. "I need to find myself some fun!" Her red lipstick mark staining the crystal clear glass. I caught the large flash of hunger before she shakes her head wondering off into the crowd.
Layla loops her elbow around through mine before turning and walking us towards an empty food table miles away from all the others. To the far end of the clearing right at the front was a makeshift stage made of tree trucks, roots and vines that were twisted into stairs and a platform. At the top stood a microphone. Tables with food circled the stage and outer clearing leaving a huge dancefloor in the centre. Orange orbs of light and heat chased away any chill the cool night possessed.
As we neared the far away table I noticed it was the only one that didn't have a floating globe above it, casting it in darkness. "Seems convenient that mum missed one." I say smiling.
