Jaycee's POV:

Viren had been surprisingly genuine as he spoke. His emotions reflecting brightly in his eyes. There was no deceit and the only guilt I felt was when he spoke of the horrid illusion he used on us.

"We are still a virgin." Frost says, happy that our mate had managed to protect us in that way. "Yes he lied to us but he was also the reason we had food to eat most days, a warm blanket and better living conditions. He was secretly trying to protect us."

"I know Frost but I still can't forgive him that quickly."

"Jaycee he is our mate."

I sigh bringing my attention back to Viren.

"You deserve to know the truth Jaycee, and I want you to know you can trust us.."

"Trust has to be earned." I say feeling the conflicting emotions in his eyes. "Why do you hesitate?"

"The problem is, my beast and I have spent one hundred years hating, disagreeing and not trusting eachother." My eyes widen. One hundred years..

"I hated one half of me, always pushing it away and refusing to understand his nature. By resisting my beast and his desires it lead me to the brink of death more times that I care to admit. When my body was weak enough, he would take control and.." Viren stops as if not wanting to admit the cruel judgments he once had of his beast.

I could feel their emotions as they change between that of his and his beast. I've never been able to sift and separate more than one persons emotions at a time, as usually only a person or wolf are in control at a time. I was surprised by the way they shared this form.

"Viren is unique and his beast is strong. I can feel him Jaycee. He wants us." Frost says whimpering at feeling his pain and desperation to be accepted.

Viren sighs. "It's only been the last few months that we have repaired our relationship and I have discovered how incredibly smart, compassionate, protective and loving he is. We share control at all times, not exactly shifting the way a wolf does. You change forms with your wolf at will, then change back. They can see through your eyes and can lend you their strength, however for us it's like that power is always there. I was willing to trust you won't reject us if I gave you the information you seek, however my beast is not wanting to take that chance. Please understand, it would destroy us. I know this is a lot for you to take in Jaycee, but my beast and I have been falling in love with you, and doing our best to protect you this entire time. We can't imagine a world where you're not in it, or one where you hate us. I know I said I would tell you, however since my beast isn't ready to, I dont want to risk my relationship with him. If I was to ignore his wishes and tell you, only for you to reject us it would destroy us both. He may never forgive me for that."

"He isn't trying to go back on his word, he is simply respecting his beast." I feel Frost come to the surface, wanting a better look at our mate. There was nothing but honesty in his eyes.

Viren's eyes widen, a small gasp escaping his parted lips, as he notices my wolf come forward. Our light blue eyes glowing brightly even in the white hospital room.

I smile. "Okay."

He blinks surprised at our answer. "Okay?" He repeats making sure he heard us right.

I nod. "You're right Viren. That was a lot to take in and I probably need to sit with it a while. Thank you for explaining everything to me and for being truthful the entire time. That doesn't mean everything is forgotten, but I don't quite hate you anymore. You must understand I still have traumatising memories that feel very real to me, whether they happened or not." He nods relieved with this small olive branch.
