Jaycee's POV:
"Yes two things. One, I'm so sorry, and two.. I've wanted to do this since the first moment I laid eyes on you."
Coals hands took Layla's cheeks the same moment his lips latched onto hers. Layla's eyes closed as he demanded every ounce of her attention. Every overwhelming sensation, taste and breath that Coal devoured, was gifted tenfold in the most passion kiss I have ever witnessed.
"Oh! Layla! What is going on here?"We all look up startled by the familiar voice. Layla hesitantly pulls away from the kiss, placing her hand on Coals chest to create some distance.
"Ah.. hi mum, Luna.." Layla gives both woman an awkward smile. "I'd like you to meet my mate, Coal."
Ellas eyes squint at Coal before she crosses her arms. "You never mentioned anything about being my daughters mate." Coal takes a stand reaching out for an official handshake.
"Wait you know him mum?"
"Not really, no. I've met him, and he helped Salvatore rescue you girls, but I'm not sure anyone really knows these two."
Laylas eyes widen. "I knew someone was standing behind Salvator and the Luna in the cells but I only caught a flash of silver hair. That was you?"
Coal bows dramatically. "At your service princess."
"Princess?" Layla blushes confused at her new title.
"Yes, there will be no one else on this earth above you, you are more than royalty in my eyes.""Wow you really are pulling out all the stops." I mumble catching Coals sly grin.
My smile falters as I catch sight of Salvator. He stood in the doorway behind the Luna trying to stay out of sight. I noticed his genuine smile and felt his amusement, pride and hope shinning brightly in his eyes. He truly was happy for his best friend, and his half smile did things to my heart that I couldn't explain, making me frown.
"We have a mate Frost, so how is it that I am so drawn to Salvator? Shouldn't my heart only beat for my mate, no matter what he's done? The Bond is meant to be drawing us together, but when Salvator is around I don't think about Viren? My heart doesn't ache as much."
"You're not the only one drawn to him Jay. Is it possible we have two mates?"
"I'm not sure, but the last thing we need is a guy. If there is one thing I've learnt over the last two years in captivity, it's that most guys are evil and only know how to cause pain. The only two we can rely on is my dad and Max. Even our mate proved how selfish he could be, and we don't need to be blinded by a sweet smile and nice abs."
"You're right Jay, we won't settle or be blinded exactly, but maybe we can have a little fun? He does have very nice-"
"Frost we need to focus on our pack and saving the other girls."
A grunt of approval was the last thing I heard before Frost retreated to the background, allowing me to focus on what Coal, Layla and the others were saying.
"No chance will it be that easy!" Layla states crossing her arms. I see Ella smile at her daughter, pride shimmering in her brown eyes.
Coal sighs. " You can bring a friend along, I'll bring one too, and no expectations. Just one date."
