Viren's POV:

Time stood still. All the staff had left the private dinning room not wanting to witness or risk being a part of what might go down in a few seconds. At this moment I wasn't the all powerful Viren the witch council member, nor was I Salvator with all his potions and desire to save all hybrids. No, in this moment I was only a boy wanting to save his mother. The only person in this world who knew the real me and protected me all my life. The person who taught me most of what I know and showed me what it is to be loved.
"Please don't, she is innocent in all this." I say dowsing most of my fire. I had let my fury take hold but needed to reign in my temper if we were to all walk out of here unharmed with an understanding.
"Fred, what are you doing? This isn't what we planned." Serg said staring down his second in command.
Fred sighs. "You only told me half the story Serg. What did you expect me to do when Viren here threatens both our lives. I know you said neither are to be harmed however I don't believe Viren here is on the same page, and judging by his aura, he would have no problems challenging the King himself. The only thing we have right now that is stopping him from tying up loose ends, is her and being outnumbered."

Serg stiffened at Fred's words clearly seeing a new threat he missed before. The threat of the throne. Coal chose that moment to shapeshift. His silver hair caught the candle light but it was his yellow green eyes that appeared to be glowing brightly.
One hand was around Fred's throat in the same hold Fred used against my mother, the other held Freds wrist tightly preventing further movements. One wrong move though, and all hell could break loose.

"Gentlemen, as you can see Viren is not alone, however Viren I believe you have let your tempter get the best of you. Maybe try listening to what your father has to say, it's clear he means you and your mother no harm." He says annoyance clear in his tone.

Serg stands up, his palms facing outwards in a placating gesture towards Coal. You are correct I mean neither of them harm, I just wanted to talk. Fred let go first, if this man wanted you dead you would be."

Fred glared. "If I die here tonight I will come back to haunt you my friend." His claws receded as he slowly moved his hand away from my mothers neck.
"Serg, please Magista sit between Viren and I. It will be the only way Viren will truly listen to what you have to say. If you truly mean her jo harm, surly this is a small price to pay for a resolution. Coal says releasing Fred.

Serg grits his teeth before nodding. My mother waists no time moving around the table to sit beside me, Coal following closely behind her before taking his seat.
"Surly you have questions Viren, and so do I. How about we take turns and try not to let our anger get the better of us?" Serg suggests before taking a drink of wine.

"How have you managed to hide your beast for so long, and how is he able to speak?"

"Thats two questions Serg. I point out before answering. First what we discuss must stay between the five of us for at least one week. I need your word."

Serg looked hesitant however agreed to my terms. Hopefully a week was all I would need to free the girls. It will have to do.
"I grew up hating my beast side." I internally cringe feeing a wave of my beasts pain shoot through me. Sorry I whisper to him before continuing. "At the time, I knew anyone who found out about me being a hybrid, would turn me in which would put both mum and I at risk. I experimented with potions and spells and managed to find a way to temporarily lock that side of me away in a cage so to speak. I also found a potion to hide my true scent but even that has drawbacks." I say trying to figure out how to explain things.
"In order to hide my beasts eyes, I had to refrain from human blood and from large quantities of animal blood. This however kept me at a constant weakened state." I say watching Fred and my fathers eyes widen.
My cravings were strong however I taught myself strict control. It was either that or risk our lives, it's amazing what you can do with the right motivation." I say ignoring the sadness in Serg's eyes.
"In regards to how he is able to speak through me.. I'm not entirely sure. I also didn't think it was possible to communicate with him, however since recently learning to trust him and being able to share control of our body, things have began changing. He is learning to communicate with me, and has even learnt restraint which he never had before."
