Viren's POV:

My mother jumps up from her spot by the fire, startled by my sudden appearance. Her wide eyes and hands grip her chest before breathing a large sigh of relief.

"Son what's the hurry? A little warning next time." She scolds.

"Sorry mum, but I only have a few minutes." I say stripping out of my clothes and gathering the red and black leather from my backpack. Sliding on my pants, white short sleeve and boots, I reach for my bandolier. Swinging it over my chest I double check the freshly stocked Vials before clicking it in place. Pulling on my red leather jacket and raising the hood I take a deep calming breath. Before my heart rate could calm, rustling from a bush behind me had me taking a defensive stand in front of my mother.
Mum puts a steading hand on my shoulder as Coal emerges from the bush. "Where have you been Coal? I asked you to protect her with your life and you go off leaving her-"

"Son." My mother cuts in. "It was my idea to get Coal to help, you're the one surrounded by the enemy, and I am more than capable of taking care of myself." She huffs annoyed at me treating her like a defenseless child.
Coal smirks in amusement at my scolding, and my beast for once are on the same page, wanting nothing more than to punch the smirk off his face. As I swing my fist he easily dodges, his silver hair graving my fist as it catches up to him. It reminds me how much faster he is than I am now, which only adds fuel to the inferno already blazing inside me. Even when my beast was at his best he always seems to be just out of reach.
"Aren't you forgetting something Viren?" Coal muses looking way too happy and cocky right now. He side steps another punch making me growl in frustration. I freeze half way through throwing a third punch, my eyes widening as he points to his glowing yellow green eyes.

I realise what he is referring to and eagerly dive towards the jacket thrown inside my tent. I grin eagerly at the bag of Jaycees blood calling for my undivided attention. Holding the zip closed I hastily sink my teeth into the corner of the bag downing every drop I could manage.
A loud moan leaves my lips as the rare warm liquid slides down my throat. The taste awakens parts of me that have laid dormant for far to long. My taste buds dance excitedly at the rich addictive flavour. Her sweet nectar was something I had been craving since my very first taste and I find my anger instantly vanishing.
"You look like and addict who finally had their fix." My mother says disapprovingly. The look of confusion and surprise on her face stopping my tongue from swiping inside the bag for any remaining streaks. "Not once have I seen this reaction from you. Care to tell me what is so special about that blood son?" I find myself slipping my emotionless mask on, shocking even myself. I've never felt the need to hide from my mother before, however her scrutinizing gaze has me panicking.
She flinches back, noticing my odd behaviour. A look of bewilderment and betrayal light up her features. I didn't have the time to tell her the truth with her parents pack fast approaching, yet the pain in her eyes has my beast whimpering in my mind.
"Hello Viren." Alessia, Queen of the Vampires announces a few meters to our left making my mother and Coal gasp in surprise. Coal appears in front of her in a protective stance before Alessia finished talking. I on the other hand was expecting her. As I turn around leisurely I'm caught off guard seeing the King, my half brother standing beside her. A protective arm wrapped around her slender waist, as his narrow gaze was locked on me.

"You seem to have been expecting us, even though we are six hours early." Crim says raising a brow. It was the first time he has seen or spoken to me since finding out who I am. "Mind telling me how you knew we were here with Alexa cloaking us all?"

I grin seeing Alessia tilt her head curiously. It wasn't often the woman revealed expressions of interest or curiously, being a oracle. "Guess there are stronger powers at play than even the Luna and Queen are aware of." I say allowing my grin to grow. Crim grunts unimpressed at my lack of information but doesn't push it.
"Well.. we are ten minutes in front of the others, we'll meet you here in twenty minutes if you need us before then, you will find our camp to the south of here on the edge of a riverbank." Alessia advises.

"It's only eleven in the morning, the initial plan was to attack at midnight." I reply furrowing my brows. Having everyone this close to the pack is bound to draw someone's attention. Alessia only smirks, clearly knowing something I don't.
"As you said Salvator, there are some powerful forces at play. Did you ever think maybe there was a reason we came so early?" Not waiting for a reply she disappears in a ball of smoke, followed by her arrogantly grinning mate.   Exactly seventeen minutes later, a frantic Alice and Jason rush towards us gasping for air. Their expressions panicked, pupils blown wide with fear. I watch their hands land on their knees as they struggle to catch their breath.
"Who are you? Where's Viren?" Alice huffs.

I hold in a groan realising i can't blow my cover.
"We're here on his behalf." Coal says coming to the rescue when my tongue was tied.
"How can I trust you?" She asks wearily. "I don't have time for this."

"I know about the letters in the tree. He also told me your fast and he's strong. Said it would help you believe me. Call me Salvator."

"Well Salvator.. We both have a huge problem. The guards decided to check on a few of the families houses an hour earlier than expected due to how quiet it was. They knew something is up and have started gathering the hybrids within our pack. Jason and I managed to slip away undetected, as well as a small group. We pointed them in the direction of the safe house, however they don't know details about it in case they get captured. Told them we'll catch up."

"Okay Alice just breath." I say turning to Jason who seemed in better shape having caught his breath. He frowns.
"How do you know her name?" He questions taking a step forward protectively.

"Viren told me your names." I groan at the distrust. "What are the guards doing exactly?"

"Half the guards were rounding up the hybrids with weapons, trying to keep them huddled in the centre of the town, the other half have headed to inform the Alpha and help secure the prison.
I let a small smirk slip making Jason raise a brow. "Thanks to a few prisoners and a guard who seems to have switched sides, Your Alpha is down three guards. One is dead, one has fled for her life, and one Jeff thinks is loyal, but I am certain wants out. That leaves seven guards within the prison, around fifteen guards who surround it, and what ever guards are headed there now." I say explaining my positive attitude.
"Three less guess when the five of us are against thirty is hardly a reason to be smiling. The way they were man handling the others, we may have to pick between the prisoners and the hybrid pack members. Keep in mind, we may have convinced most of the pack to come with us, however there are still a few powerful ones loyal to Jeff and Margo, who will fight against us." Alice reminds me.
"Well good thing we have a small army of our own." As Alessia's voice sounded behind me, Alice and Jason jump out of their skin.

"Alice, Jason meet Alessia and Crim the Vampire King and Queen." Their eyes widen in shock and fear before moving there gaze behind them. "They have come with some ally's to help us out. I turn noticing Zander and Alexa standing side by side, their features screaming determination and intimidation. Ten warriors of their finest have also come along to help.
Screams begin filling the air coming from the town. The smell of smoke and fire are carried on a light breeze. "Salvator, it's time. You said you have a way in, show me." Alexa says stepping forward. "We will have more chance sneaking in just the two of us. Zander, Alessia and all the others will help the large group of pack members."

"I'm coming with you." Coal says firmly and I nod accepting his help before Alexa can refuse.
"Magista, I will be escorting you to our makeshift camp, we will need your help with the injured. It will be our meeting place." Alessia steps forwards with Crim, holding onto my shocked mother. She probably wondered how Alessia knew her name.

"Be careful with her. If anything-"

"I'll be fine Salvator, I'll see you soon." She says giving me a forced smile. "Stay safe."

I watch as smoke engulfs her until the three of them are no longer visible. Turning my attention to Zander and his men I point towards a path leading to the town and watch as they push aside branches and quietly disappear form the clearing.
"Alexa and Coal" I gesture towards the forests path that leads to Jeffs fake garden. "This way, I left a window open we can use to sneak in. We just need to remove three guards without drawing attention.oh and Jaycee is under heavy protection, and is chained to a bed with a silver collar."
