Jaycee's POV:
After fighting the guards off for ten minutes while still semi chained, I had broken ones nose with my forehead, and kneed the other one in the crutch sending him crumpling to the ground. My memories and instincts were resurfacing more everyday, granting me a confidence I never had before.
Now that I was pregnant the guards were instructed to refrain from causing unnecessary injury to me. Quite amusing to see their rage and frustration caused by my resistance. I may have a black eye after fighting back, however the crunch of one guards broken nose was worth it. I of course ensured to keep my eyes on his chest to avoid direct eye contact after I had delivered the sickening crack.
I have been lying here for twenty minutes by myself, with nothing but the occasional whispers coming from the guards positioned outside my door. The silver collar was an ever present reminder thanks to the inflamed blisters on neck. The smell of burning flesh was nauseating but the pain was nothing compared to what I have ensured in the past. As the pain made itself known, I reminded myself of the many torturous times we suffered worse, it helped me put the feelings into perspective. Mind over matter was more powerful than most people thought, and maintaining control over my mind was the only way to survive all this time.Frost was out for the count since a few minutes ago. The guard who's nose had healed incorrectly, decided to inject a large amount of wolfsbane into my system despite his friends pleas to not be so stupid. "Jeff will kill us both if he finds out!" His friend scolds for the tenth time, his eyes flicking back to the entrance as if expecting Jeff to barge in at any moment. Only after closing my door and standing guard outside my room, do I allow the defending silence to relax me.
As Frost lays weakened and dormant, my thoughts wonder to Salvator. I hadn't had a visits from him since the time he left me my treat. It had been two night since then and a part of me missed our many talks and sliver of hope he gave me every night. As my eye lids become heavy, I eventually allow myself to drift off to sleep.
"Why are you two still here!" I am startled awake by angry shouts. Alpha Jeffs familiar baritone sent shivers down my spine as he yelled at the guards, though something about it felt.. odd. Before I could process what was happening a flash of black filled my vision before I was thrown into darkness.
Alexa's POV: (Jaycee's mother)Magic was all around me. The energising thrum of it was an ever present companion, especially walking besides these two men who were more mystery than Alessia and I. She was the only other person that had me feeling so energised however for the first time ever, another two are letting off the same energy. I could feel there determination and desperation to help save these girls. It was the only thing stopping me from asking all the questions going around in my head. "Why the lies, why the secrets, why the vigilante appearance? Anytime I come close to asking, something in the pit of my stomach tells me it's not the right time to have these answers. It is a feeling I have grown to trust, as it has never once been wrong.
Salvatore's hand darts out last minute pulling me back a step. I was so lost in my own thoughts I hadn't seen the two guards briskly walk past us. Half shrouded by the shadow of a nearby tree, and half by the buildings charcoal bricked walls, it was surprising we had come this far unnoticed without the need for my powers.
"Alpha, our warriors have surrounded the potential hybrids planing to flea. They found many with suitcases packed and homes bare of photos which seem rather coincidental now that all their loved ones are suddenly missing. One of our guards took the time to check the camera's-""Without my order?" Jeff questions calmly though his eyes were flickering between that of his wolf's. "Sorry sir, but they had picked up something now that our pack is on high alert. The alarm was going off which is why he did it." Alpha waved the man off telling him to get to the point. "On the footage a man dressed in red leather seems to have been spying on us, it went back a few weeks. The cameras picked up another image though it was blurry. He thinks he was walking this way but he wasn't sure."
