Viren's POV:

It took Nala and I a second to notice the blood originating from Coals palm, and it brought me back to the day Nala bonded with me. I did my best to ignore my tingling fangs and intense thirst. It has been over a week since I've drank blood and I've been using my magic without replenishing my energy, my eyes have even turned blue in this time.

Coal gasped at the intense connection brining my attention back to his confused expression. I remember feeling the same. Rose spread her legs and bowed low to Coal, just as Nala had done to me. By the strange look on Coals face I knew they were mind linking for the first time.

Nala's amusement was strong, and it was followed by a strong sense understanding. "I suspected she was considering this. She has grown quite close to Coal this past week and I have seen her come out of her shell since he arrived."

Rose stood tall and said her goodbyes to Coal as we walked towards them. I whispered to Coal letting him know what Nala told me about Noah not being able to penetrate Nala's mind, planting the seed. A seed that Nala caught onto before curiosity turned into worry.

"It could backfire if Coal is not strong enough, Noah may be able to use Coals mind against him."

"His strong enough." I say with conviction as Noah begins his descent from the Castle's main entrance.

"Indeed Coal has trained well this past week." Noah remarks assuming he knew what we were speaking about.

"Thank you again for giving Coal a safe place to phase and train. Now that Coal is able to phase mid air, and also use his shapeshifting powers to reduce the size of his dragon, we should have no need to return for training purposes, however I would like to one day visit and bring occasional gifts if you would allow it." I ask and give a slight respectful bow towards Noah.

His eyebrows eyes light up with surprise. "I understand there will be times you want to check up on Nala. I've heard a bond like the one you two share can be quite strong. I'm sure we can accept an occasional visit, however you will only be able to enter with the presence of one of us."

I nod before turning to Coal. "I'm going to head back with Nala now, take your time saying your goodbyes and I'll see you soon."

Nalas surprise then understanding was equivalent to Coal's, only he took an extra two seconds to understand why I was leaving before him.

Once Nala flew us though the barrier we were surrounded by clouds and a thick fog. She landed on the forest floor before I dismounted.

"You think Noah will try read Coals mind without you there Viren? It may risk a war I don't think he will be that stupid after what happened with you and after you told him the repercussions."

"Your right, he won't directly try to read Coals thoughts, however I can see the kind of leader he is. He likes to feel empowered and in control and his, has been slipping lately. I believe he may force his way into Rose's mind to get the information he needs, since he couldn't get it from you. By doing this he will make it a point that she is at his mercy.

Noah would have realised by now Rose bonded with Coal. I have told Coal how our bond works, and how I pushed Noah out. He also knows we have a direct link and it was enough to help you. If push comes to shove and Noah mentally attacks Rose just to piss Coal off, he may be able to focus his power and flood Nala with it through their bond. I helped you unintentionally, imagine what Coal could do if motivated enough?"
Nala's laugh was cut off by the change in my emotions. Blood, I smelt so much blood carried on the breeze leading back towards the camp. Enough to make my fangs tingle and beast restless with need.
