Jaycee's POV:

As the smoke cleared we began to free fall. Sadie luckily managed to grab hold of a branch, however I slid from her grasp landing firmly on a flat boulder beneath her. Every muscle throbbed painfully from the impact as the air was forcefully expelled from my lungs.

Water began splashing me from all sides making it hard to gain traction. "Jaycee, I have enough energy to shift. If we fall in our human form the cold temperature and force of the water will overpower us. We have more chance of surviving in our wolf form."

"Won't we get pulled under with all our fur? We've never shifted before, what if we get stuck half way through the shift and get pulled into the current?" I reply panicked.

"Yes we'll be heavier, but I can swim and it will be harder for the current to sweep us away. Our core temperature will also be warmer than we are now. You need to trust me."

Frosts words made sense and I trusted her more than anyone. I knew I would not last long in my human form either way.

"Jaycee are you okay?" Sadie yelled holding onto the branch for dear life.

"I.. I'm going to shift into my wolf. She says it will be safer." I yell back hoping she could hear me over the loud crashing water.

"Okay Frost, I'm ready." I bite down on my lip as Frost takes full control. I scream as my bones begin to snap and reform, unable to breathe through the intense pain. I catch a glimpse of panic and guilt in Sadie's eyes but am drowning in too much agony to comfort her.

Half way through the shift our footing slips on the wet surface. We manoeuvre our body ensuring to be on the correct side of the bolder. The water crashes into us with force that makes it hard to hold on.

"Jaycee where are you?" Sadie screamed beginning to swivel her head into all directions. I hadn't moved from the spot and wondered why she couldn't see me. As the last of our body snapped into place I felt the difference in the water pressure. It still hurt but was more manageable. My head cleared the water a little higher than it did in my human form. The water pushed our body further into the rock, allowing me to not get swept away by the current.

I let out whine as a thick tree branch smashed into my face before being dragged away by the unforgiving current.

"Jaycee you have to hold on. I can't see you since you shifted but I can smell and hear you. Try to hold on while I call out for help."

Sadie spent the next five minutes screaming for help. She was tiring herself out, and the last thing we needed was for both of us to be in this position. The forest had become darker now and the only light illuminating the clearing belonged to the starts and moon.

"Stop. Save.. energy." I rasped out, struggling and gasping for air. I would occasionally choke on a mouthful of water or howl out in pain as an object collided into me. I was weakening and knew I couldn't hold on for much longer. After another minute of silence I heard Sadie call out for help again. If I was paying attention I may have heard the excitement in her voice but my eyes had begun shutting and my limbs were painfully numb, no longer listening to my minds commands.

Just as I was ready to give up, a strong hand gripped onto my mattered fur. It hurt but the sparks penetrating deep into my body, gave me a warmth and comfort I thought I'd never feel again.

"Jaycee." The sound of my name on this mans lips had a small smile stretch along my face. As quickly as it came it disappeared when my thoughts went back to Viren. My memories flashed on repeat, taking me back to the times he showed me kindness. The times he could have had his way with me but chose to ask questions and play games. The time he made me cum so hard I shook, and yet he never forced himself onto me despite his raging hard on. The time he threatened Jeff over the abuse and way I was cared for. Threatening Renalda over erasing my memories amd there was another memory that felt just out of reach. As they flashed in my mind one more time they ended with the time I wish to forget. The day he takes me in front of Jeff. The day he impregnated me. It was the last memory, and with it a flash on pain stabbed my heart as I lost consciousness. The feeling of weightlessness taking over.
