Viren's POV:
"Viren."
Jaycee spoke breathlessly however there was no confusion just conviction in her eyes. Of course Jaycee would be the one to eventually see past my illusion, no doubt the sparks traveling up her arms only helped. The illusion I had come across, was the most powerful one I knew of. Guess it didn't matter that I spent twenty years perfecting it, all that did was buy me time.
When all I did was stare at her in shock, unable to formulate words, it was my beast who managed to speak for us.
"Mate."
Before we could finish that one word, we were blasted with what felt like bricks. Brick after brick slammed into us, one hitting my face sending me rolling backwards in the chair. I groaned as another landed in my gut, the force of it winding me.
I stood up but didn't dare move a muscle as my mate slowly stood from her hospital bed. I looked down to notice it wasn't bricks she had used but strong blasts of water. My jacket and pants cling to me like a second skin, and strands of my hair now sagged, covering my eyes.
"There have been two things I've waited a long time to do to you." Jaycee says, growing another large water brick in both her palms. This one double the size than the others. I watch the colours swirl from a dark blue to grey, similar to a rough ocean on a stormy day.
As Jaycee throws it, I suck in a sharp breath refusing to evade any attacks she send my way. Unlucky for me, she shoots it straight to my groin. I doubled over in pain knowing I deserve this and so much more.
Jaycees aura flashes, reminding me she has been using her own magic until now. This blue aura of hers is reacting to her intense emotions, sending bolts of thunder my way. It explodes upon impact and I'm thrown into the ceiling, before falling back to the hard floor.
I look up to see a satisfied smile on Jaycees face and the sight of it... hurts. My beast and I know she has every right, believing we had raped and impregnated her and all, but the mate bond grows painfully taught at the feeling of betrayal.
"Is this how the mate bond feels to Jaycee?" My beast asks.
"In her eyes we betrayed her, felt pleasure in her pain the same way she felt pleasure in ours right now. I would say yes, but she has been hurting for much longer only making our bond weak."Jaycee takes a deep breath before approaching our slumped form, as we shift leaning our back against the hospital wall. I look up as she crouches down, a look of determination on her face.
"I Jaycee Black, future Alpha of the moonlight pack." My eyes widen as I hear those words and my heart stops as times slows down.
Sadie appears in a ball of smoke standing off to the side. "Jay stop!" She pleads with her hands raised in a surrendering gesture. Unfortunately she fails to deter my mate, the words falling from her beautiful lips in quick succession.
"Reject you Viren Veneficiis, witch council member, as my mate."
I stand in stunned silence too shocked and pained to even think about stopping her. I could have put my hands over her mouth and tried defending myself, but I was guilty of deceit which caused her just as much pain as what I tried protecting her from. We both wait a few seconds for the unbearable pain to hit, but it never does.
"I.. I don't understand! I read up on you, I'm sure I said your name right." She mutters to herself pacing the large space.
I frown. "You did." I reply just as confused as her.
