Salvator's POV.
Coal found a way for me to never have to be Viren again. Yes Viren was my real identity for the past 100 years, however while wearing that face and piercing blue eyes, I had never truly acted like myself. I had to lie, cheat, hide, steal and manipulate everyone around me. I first created Salvator to be a sort of vigilante. I needed an identity that would allow me to save the innocent hybrids I could get my hands on, and get noticed, but for me to be different enough so no one made the connection back to Viren.
It was to ensure if I ever was discovered and managed to escape, I could still resume the identity of Viren and work within the witch council from the inside. Somehow recently Viran began to feel like the identity I hated, the one that was a mask, and Salvator was the identity that made me feel complete. Free. I could drink blood and allow myself access to more power than I ever allowed myself with. I finally trusted my beast and stopped fearing what I really was. I've come to terms with who I am and what I can do.
Coal has been with me through all these changes and I can't help but think about how painful it would be to see him eventually go back to his world.
"So Viren here tells me you are his only other friend apart from me?" Nala's voice brings me back to the present. I was thoroughly amused but her antics.
"Yes, and I can see he has a special liking for incredibly rare, undiscovered creatures." Coal replies making Nala let out a hearty laugh.
"Oh yes, I guess you can say that. I think I'm going to like you young dragon. I can see your intentions are pure and I can feel the way Viren cares for, and trusts you. It will pain him to see you leave one day." Coals eyes widen slightly before looking my way. It was as if he hadn't taken the time to think about our inevitable departure.
I clear my throat wanting to shake the deep sadness from my heart for the time being. "That's enough tapping into my emotions for now Nala. How about you lead us to your leader?"
"I have maintained an open link with our leader Noah, and he requests we do the blood oath first, before another one of my friends help me take you to our.. what's the best word for it? Hmm.. fortress in the sky?"
Before either of us can respond, Nala's daughter appears. Her bright pink eyes were unforgettable however her body had changed. Thick muscles wrapped around strengthened bones and her height was impressive. She was standing at the same height at Nala.
"Viren this is Rose. Rose you remember Viren."Rose bows her head before casting her pink eyes onto Coal and bowing again.
"Pleasure to meet you Rose." I say a second before Coal. Amusement shines in her eyes and she holds out a large cup made of feathers.
Nala tells Coal to repeat a few sentences and explains that their kind is to remain a secret, and that no harm will come upon them from any of us. She made the punishment clear before Coal agreed. Their location is also to stay a secret between the two of us, and in return they will help us. Rose uses her sharp arrow head tail to swipe a line over Coals palms before mixing his blood with her own in the cup. To my surprise the blood was absorbed raining the beautiful grey and white feathers a interesting shade of red.
"Climb aboard boys." Nala says with a grin. "Rose, I'll race you." Just as her last words left her mouth, Nala threw me in the air only to catch me on her back. She took off making my hands grip onto her soft thick fur behind her neck. I didn't want to hurt her, so I used my magic to summon a saddle and reigns, though they went around her neck just tight enough to keep me balanced but to not cause her any discomfort of pain.
"Really Viren I'm not a horse!" Nala scoffs incredulously before her attention is drawn to her left. I was surprised she made no move to remove them, but soon realised why.
