Viren's POV:To my surprise everyone had been fully evacuated early, except for the hybrids living in Jeff's pack. That would have to happen just before the fight, or they would notice something was wrong.
We all met up with Zander, Alexa, Alessia, wanting to travel all together to ensure everyone's safety. Over half of the families had magical abilities. Most were elementals, meaning they could harvest the power of the elements, as long as they were in contact with said elements. To my delight, a few of them were particularly skilled with cloaking spells. Although there was too many of us to make invisible they were able to cloak our scents. Luna Alexa was the one who Turned twenty of the thirty or so cars invisible.m, reflecting the light completely. It would have otherwise turned some heads having so much traffic on the one stretch of road towards the safe house.
With everyone being eager to get to safety and the drive only being four hours from Jeff's pack, so two hours from most of the families homes, we didn't make any stops. The cars lined up one by one approaching what looked to be the staff car park. Part of the magic meant it never looked full.
We walk past the basket ball courts, heading for the gym. Everyone dragged their suitcases and backpacks full of their belongings. "Makes sense to fit everyone's beds in the gym. It would allow for the most amount of room." Coal says from beside me.I hold in my smirk, genuinely excited to see his reaction. Was this what it felt like to have a friend? Yes, I guess it is. Coal and I have become quite close and in tune with each others thoughts and emotions, having to spend so much time together. We were also supporting eachother though all the difficult things we had to do over these last few weeks. He has been my rock, and I his.
I open the back heavy metal door to the gym, watching Coal and the others frown in disappointment. As everyone enters and shuts the door behind them, it was Alexa who continues walking. I smile, she was one blessed and powerful witch.
"That's it? It's a normal gym." Coal says tuning in a full circle to take everything in. There were high ceilings with skylights, cages filled with gym equipment and crash mats."Hush child." The elderly woman named Rose scolded Coal. She was the dream walker we spoke to earlier. "If it is safe and conceals us from the evil witch council members, we will do well to be grateful." She says smiling towards me. I felt Coal stiffen at the mention of the evil witch council members, but he forcefully relaxed his stance. It didn't go unnoticed by Alessia though.
"Come everyone let's get settled." Rose says with a kind smile.
"Don't bother just yet. Luna Alexa says sending an amused smirk my way. "Shall we?" She says taking Zanders hand heading towards the unamusing rusted broom closet. The sign was faded and the small door easily missed.
Coal frowns looking my way before following. I walk beside him eyeing him curiously as Alexa opens the door. Everyone audibly gasps taking a step inside.
"How.. How long did this take you?" Rose asks in wonder looking at the empty street. "It looks as though we have just stepped into another small town."Medium sized houses lined the left side of the road, with white picket fences. One car sat in each driveway and small shops lined the right side. Petrol stations, grocery stores and even clothing stores looked new but deserted.
"Once a week for twenty years. I say making everyone's eyes widen. If only they knew I had to work undercover for the council in order to financially fund this place, or that working for Margo was what helped me strategically prepare for ways to protect it. They only knew me as Salvator, and if Viren had appeared they would have tried to kill me on the spot.
"How are we meant to get petrol? A old man named Billy with a grey beard asks.
"In the outside world, next door to the school there is a small warehouse. There are three grey open roller doors, and one black roller door that doesn't open. If someone walks up to it and touches it, it will do nothing.
"So how does it work?" Zander asks curiously.
