Viren's POV:
Both my beast and I don't make a move to evade Jaycee's attack. We lift our head, a sign of submission, granting her the opportunity she was looking for. My beast was adamant she won't go for the kill, so I allowed it knowing the false appearance of control of the situation is what she needed right now. Seeing her heartbreak when the Dr said she was pregnant, sent a tidal wave of guilt crashing into me. Even after the initial hit, the moisture and evidence of it still clung to me like a second skin.
What I had done and what I have made her believe was too much for anyone to get through unscathed. Jaycees light blue eyes flash brighter with the eyes of her wolf. I didn't fail to notice the drastic change in speed. She slowed the attack well before the chains pulled against her.
It surprised me that she thought twice about harming me, however my attention was drawn to her sharp claws now aiming towards her womb. For the briefest second I wondered who the father was, however my beasts angry growl stopped my straying thoughts, dousing them out until I could only focus on his. "Protect mate. Still her baby." He was right.
Seconds away from stabbing herself I allow my beast to take full reign. The pain in our chest at the thought of her harming herself and her baby was enough to almost drop us to our knees.
"Hurt me, I deserve it." I whisper. "Don't harm yourself, you've been through enough."Before her eyes could follow the movement we used our speed to raise our shirt before plunging her claws into our chest. It wasn't deep enough to be deadly but enough to take the wind out of me. Would my pain help ease hers after all I have done to her? The question bounced around in my mind as I dragged her claws down my abdomen, leaving a trail of blood and torn skin in its wake.
Jaycee gasped and withdrew her hand in shock, almost looking pained before her eyes widened. I knew she had caught the slow healing wounds that would have been healed sooner had I feasted on human blood. Shaking my head to distract myself I mumble an excuse.
"Magic and protection spells." I whisper trying to stop the onslaught of questions bound to follow. I hate adding another lie to the already huge list of lies, however it was too soon for her to know the truth. I buried the secret once and I wasn't going to give her the opportunity to surprise me again.
Jaycee looks at me curiosity and I am taken by surprise when I notice the lack of anger and mistrust in them, that had been present until now. Lifting her palm towards me, she makes a fist. Immediately blood begins to pool in her palm surrounding her claws that she buried deep in her flesh.
I stumble back fighting my beasts nature to feed. He didn't want to harm Jaycee and did his best to refrain from lunging towards her, though I could feel how hard it was to fight against our instincts in our weakened state. I had deprived us for too long already, only weakening our resolve. I notice a ziplock bag filled with paper clips and quickly empty it's contents.
Gripping Jaycee's hand I make sure to pour her blood carefully into it. There was no way I could let it go to waste and planned on indulging in it when the time is right.
"Twice!" My beast growls out. "Mate never behaves." He mutters to himself though I can feel his pride and awe swelling my own heart. I shove the bag into my pocket and once my red eyes have returned blue, I storm out of the room.
"I'm done for now Alpha Jeff, see you tonight." I say heading towards the exit.
"Don't you mean tomorrow?" Jeff shouts.
I smirk but don't reply as I hear him asking the guards to strap her down and put more guards on the door. Great that's all I need. How was I going to get her out with so many people standing guard, not to mention her wolf will be weakened by the silver collar in Jeff's hands.
