Jaycee's POV:
I scoff at Viren. "Surrender? Don't get cocky, you will find the bond works both ways, and we plan to win." I say before Sadie yells out to begin.
I spring forward, my feet digging deeply into the soft white sand. By the second step I release my illusion magic, a relief washing over me as I do so. The more I use it and rely on it, the quicker it responds to my call. Colours melt, blending to create a beautiful backdrop. Our surroundings stayed very much the same, from the tall trees that whistle in the wind before us, to the gentle sprays of water flying through the air from the crashing waterfall behind us.
Everything was the same except for the four clones of Layla and I. Even if Viren can see my magic, how quickly will he be able to locate me while being a moving target? The last time I used my powers I was standing still.
As for Coal, he would have to work twice as hard to find Layla, giving her an edge. Viren grins as my fingers curl into a fist. Excitement and curiosity gleaming in his eyes. Not wanting to be predictable, I turn, duck under his arm that shot out from his side to catch my fist, and swipe out his feet from behind him.

Viren's POV:
Jaycee springs forwards, strands of colours expanding from her silhouette. The binding sun setting behind her made for a breathtaking sight. She was more distracting than I would have expected.
The four clones of Jaycee looked impressive but shimmered with a colourful aura unlike the one surrounding her that flashed in shades of blue. I realised she often forgot how visible her gifted magic was, and how frequent it made an appearance. I heard the fearful whispers while passing pack members and had to bite my tongue whenever I overheard anything negative. It was getting increasingly challenging to ignore them, however Coals embedded nails in my wrist had been just enough to keep me focused, especially with how often they were piercing my skin.
Spotting her fist it wasn't hard guess what she played on doing with it. "I can't do this Viren, I told you I won't risk hurting our mate."
"We don't need to hurt her, just pin her down for ten seconds. I can't do this without you working with me. Especially since neither of us have full control at any given time." I try to reason with my beast.
My right hand springs out to catch her punch, only for her to use her momentum to spin under it, managing to get behind me. The other clones had been surrounding me, and although I knew they weren't real, ignoring a punch to one's face and not flinging is harder than it seems.
The second of distraction cost me dearly allowing Jaycee the time she needed to swipe my feet from under me. I use my arms to catch my fall, springing my legs towards my chest, preparing to launch them backwards into her. Unfortunately for me, they refused to move making me look ridiculous as they fall stiffly to the sand.
Laughter emerges from Jaycees luscious lips, the sound sending pleasurable tingles down my spine, and blood to my cock.
"Well it seems someone's beast isn't cooperating." She says laughing even harder. I shake my head trying to focus on standing, however it's impossible not to get lost in the way our bond vibrates with joy. I could feel her emotions for the first time, and I couldn't help but stand there frozen in shock.
Realising my odd expression she pauses mid laugh. "Viren, are you okay? I'm positive you didn't hit your head so it can't be a concussion." She says quirking a brow. "Why are you so happy?" She asks. How does she know I am feeling happy? My face is an impenetrable mask. sure I felt happy our bond is growing, and happy I am the reason for my mates joy and laughter, but she shouldn't be able to tell.
