Jaycee's POV:

Gasps of horror surrounded me and I knew the sight of me wasn't pretty. I still had streaks of blood from earlier, coating my arms. The wounds had healed within seconds, leaving behind only the evidence of them. My two dislocated thumbs hung weakly as I used the drying blood to slip though the small cuffs. Once free of my restraints. I walk over to Stuart holding my hands out towards him. He follows my silent command, grabbing them and clicking them back in place one at a time.
After a few deep breaths the shooting pain and weird feeling in my hands vanished. Walking past Layla I smiled. "I found another illusion." Her wide eyes encouraged me to continue. "The door near the kitchen that leads outside, is an illusion."
Before Layla could reply I approach Sadie. I didn't know how long I had before the guards would return. No one spoke as I sat down to face her. She eyed me curiously placing her hands into my awaiting ones.
"Close your eyes." I say gripping her firmly. As she followed my lead I continued.
"I want you to open your mind and body to me. Trust me completely and allow me in." While connected with Sadie, I felt the moment her hesitation turned into to trust. Her minds door opened with a near silent creak, and nothing but darkness greeted me.
As I stepped forward lights flickered above my head illuminating the many doors that lined the right wall of the dark tunnel, allowing me access. I ran through areas of her mind, that took on the image of underground tunnels.

Some doors were unlocked. Stepping into one, I saw a memory she had of Jet and her sparing. Kicks and punches flew at lightning speed and Jet seemed to have pinned Sadie against his back huskily whispering in her ear.
"That was almost too easy. Guess you are a submissive after all-" before he could finish she pushed herself backwards kicking hard off the ground. The force propelled Jet backwards allowing Sadie to land in hun sharply landing a jab with her elbow to his side, it was enough of a distraction for him to loosen his grip and for her to put some much needed space between them. The blush coating her cheeks could have been from the excursion or from something else. I backed out of the memory closing the door.
Walking around I noticed some doors were locked and wondered what was behind them. Upon completion concentrating on which doors hid her powers, I felt a tug in my gut pulling me forward. I ran for what felt like ten minutes before landing in front of a gold door. The lock was thick and symbols surrounded it. I realised Renalda's memory erasing spell must be what is locking these doors in place.
Speaking out loud knowing Sadie could hear me, I close my eyes and managed to pass through the door. It was still locked but I was able to view the memory behind it. It flickered to life drenching me in rain. It poorer down as I ran through the raging storm.
"Jaycee wait up! Sadie yelled trailing behind me along with Layla and one other girl I recognised but couldn't place a name to.

I fell hitting the rocky ground, gut reaching cries emerged from my throat and had it not been for the torrential rain, I was sure I'd see tears streaming down my cheeks.
"You can't let what they say get to you." Layla huffed as she and the other two girls crumpled to the floor beside me.
"You don't get it!" I cried unable to bring myself to look them in the eyes. I didn't want to see their pity or guilt when they said things to try and make me feel better, thinking it would help even if they didn't believe the words themselves.
"Help us understand Jay." The familiar girl I had no name for spoke.

"Michelle.." I say realising I was living the memory rather than watching it take place. "It wasn't what they said that hurts, it's the truth and belief in what they say that destroys me."

"They said you would always be alone, that no one will ever love you, not even your mate." Michelle says looking at me, using her hand to lift my chin. "Your mate will love you more than anything and anyone in this world. Just because they believe their words... it doesn't make them true." The honesty in her eyes helped me catch my breath.
"Uncle Abe's wisdom is rubbing off on you." Sadie says with a small smile.
