Justin (dad) POV
After storming off I leave the house and run. I run to clear my head.
Being in the military, makes you learn that running is just as normal as walking.
Callie POV
I pull up to the place that I basically grew up.
'Mac's gym' this is where my dad went...everyday to box.
He taught me how to defend myself.
Before I started gymnastics and dance I would come here everyday after school and even on weekends.
Terrie protested that growing up in a sweaty boxing gym is not a thing for a girl, so I was enrolled in gymnastics and dance. Ever since I was 8.
I take a deep breath and enter the gym.
Me: "hey Hal, is my dad here?" He looks at me and shows me the ring.
Hal: "haven't seen you in a while Cal"
I chuckle and go towards the ring.
I see my dad. Throwing punches at a dummy
Me: "I WANNA TALK!" I shout over the music
He walks over and pauses the music.
We both sit down on the edge of the ring
Me: "I know I'm dumb. It's just you hear it from one person and you think it's true. You think everyone-" I start to cry
"-you think everyone thinks the same thing. So I did what I thought was smart. And I'm not, I'm stupid." I start to shake my head
Dad: "hey your not stupid. That's why you have people that care about you. Callie you have never been the slightest bit heavy. You have what every young adult wants. A toned body. So want it you have thighs!"
I nod
Me: "that's why- I want you to help me." His eyes go wide
Me: "I can barley go through dance practice without feeling light headed." My dad shakes his head
Dad: "no-no I can't do that." I looks at him
Me: "yes you can. I can do it. I promise"
My dad smiles at me
Dad: "and people want to know where I get my stubbornness from." I laugh, we hug each other and he kisses my head
Dad: "alright! Get ready!"
