✧ pizza shop - grayson

my shift was almost over at my job, the local pizza shop. i wiped down the counter, my eyes falling to the keys at under the cash register. i just wanted to leave. 15 more minutes to go!

i checked to see if anyone was still here, and indeed someone was. it was a guy named grayson dolan. he sat awkwardly at a booth, his bouquet of sunflowers + roses in his hand. his finger gripped the ends, causing the skin to turn white.

grayson dolan was known as a nerd. my heart clenched at his lonely presence. i dropped my cleaning rag and walked over to him.

"hey, the shop if closing soon," i said, wiping my hands on my jeans. he nodded, his eyes rimmed with tears. i took a seat across from him.

"are you waiting for someone?" i asked. he nodded once again. i looked down at my shoes, then back at him. "she stood me up," he said, bottom lip quivering.

"when was she supposed to be here?" i questioned. he looked at his watch. "6:30..."

i looked at the big clock above the door. i bit my lip. it's now 8:21...

"i'm sorry," i said quietly. he put the flowers on the table and took off his glasses. he rubbed his wet eyes.

in my perspective, he was gorgeous and perfect in every way. that girl lost a good opportunity to have a pizza date with an amazing guy.

i took his hands and cupped them with mine on top. he looked at me mesmerized, his big hazel eyes staring at mine.

"she didn't deserve you grayson." i truthfully said. he cocked his head. "you know my name?"

i nodded. "of course. why wouldn't i?"

"no one really cares for me,"

and with those words, my blood boiled. he deserves to be loved, be shown affection. i cannot believe people don't see him that way i do.

i couldn't waste anymore time. i leaned over the booth and placed my lips on his. he didn't kiss back at first, then he did. his plump lips molded into mine...

and i knew he was a perfect little angel.
