"but mom!" i whined, stomping my foot with fury. i've always obeyed my mom, never talked back, always respected to her and did everything she asked... but this... this is too much.

"i said no y/n y/m/n. you will not see ethan anymore." she said sternly, dropping her pen on the kitchen counter. she folded a piece of paper and put it in her pocket.

"what's that?" i asked.

"papers i signed to get you out of new jersey prep. you're going somewhere else." she placed the paper in an envelope.

"mom! that's too far!" i raised my voice, causing her to widen her eyes. "oh, so you're gonna raise your voice at me huh? give me your phone." she folded her four fingers back and forth, as in a 'give me' motion.

a boost of adrenaline ran through my veins, as i instantly jotted to my room. i shut my door and locked it, grabbing my phone.

"y/n y/m/n y/l/n! open this door right now!" my mom pounded on the door.

my heart thumped fast, my thumbs moving faster. i texted ethan, 'pick me up ASAP. honk when here!'

i put my phone in my closet incase my mom searched for it if she busted through the door. i rummaged through my clothes drawer and shoving some in a bag.

i heard the doorknob shake, my heart beating faster. i zipped up my bag and grabbed my phone, to see a text from ethan.

'omw'

i'm glad he didn't ask any questions. i paced back and forth around my room, thoughts flustering my mind.

and indeed a thought popped in my mind. i grabbed my phone and texted ethan.

'WAIT! DONT HONK.'

my mom could hear.

my mom had stopped knocking and ran downstairs, looking through shelves for tools to unlock my door.

finally, i received a text from ethan.

'here'

i opened my window and carefully climbed down, my feet steadily balancing on the bricks. i hopped down, and ran to ethans car with my bag.

"so, whats up-" i cut him off by slamming the door. "GO! PLEASE!" i begged out of breath, throwing my bag and phone in the back and buckling up.

"oh, okay," he said driving out of the driveway. i looked back to see my moms head poking out the window, tears streaming down her face. at this point, i didn't care. i frowned and sat back face foward in the seat.
