Warnings: Fighting & Fluff

You sigh as you look at the text you just received. Another person asked you to take their shift at work tonight, and honestly you started feeling a bit guilty for saying no. You look at Monty, who was pulling on a shirt, getting ready for Sherri’s party tonight. “Babe, I’m so sorry but I can’t make it tonight” you say softly. He bites his lip and looks at you. “What?” he asks, his eyebrows lifted. “It’s just, another person needs me to take their shift they are low on staff” you start and he shakes his head. “No, no. This is every weekend” he shakes his head. You look at him. “It’s not every weekend” you say and smile. “Plus, now you can just focus on the boys, right?” you say. He shakes his head and sighs, looking down. “I’m so sick and tired of this” he looks at you.

“Sick and tired of what?” You ask him, biting your lip. “This, you let people boss you around, always getting you to do tasks you don’t want to do and you never take time for yourself” he snaps. “You have blown me off for the last three weeks. I don’t care if they want you to cover 80 shift’s tonight, you are telling them no” he looks at you. “I can’t do that Monty, you know that” you say. He shakes his head. “I don’t get why, all they do is tell you that you didn’t do it right. They make you feel invalid, and then they drop you. They never take your shifts when you need them and even worse they make you deal with their problems for them, how is that fair to you?” He asks.

You frown. “Monty, I’m just trying to be kind. You never know what someone is going through” you say softly. “Exactly, and they don’t know what you are going through yet they are asking you to do all the dirty work while they sit back and watch” he scoffs. “It’s almost iconic, I mean, you’re trying to become a surgeon to fix people when you can’t even fix yourself” he states.

You look at him and can’t help the small giggle that escapes your lips. “I’m sorry, what?” you ask, looking at him with amusement. He looks at you confused. “Why are you laughing?” he asks, a small smile forming on his lips. “It’s just funny to me that you would come up with that analogy” you chuckle. He smiles gently and looks at you. “I’m just saying, you haven’t had a break for weeks, i’m not letting them take this one from you.” he comes over and kisses your head. “You do enough, you’ve been stressed out recently and tonight is exactly what you need” he assures and kisses you gently. “Now tell them no, and finish getting ready and we will have the craziest night of out lives” he smiles.

You chuckle and do what he says, finding it adorable that he cares about you enough to look out for you this way. You were lucky to have him, especially when it came to piecing you back up.
