While Yu Yue and the others were advancing toward the central region, a huge commotion was currently happening.

The central region is a home of various experts and powerful forces. Currently, there are five major sects, more than fifty second-rate forces, and more than hundreds of third-rate forces. There are no empires in the central region, experts are eccentric people as they have the strength to back it up so they naturally want to form their forces.

That is why everything is controlled by sects and clans, there is a sect exchange every year amongst all sects to determine their rankings. A few years ago a sect with unknown origins was established. People look at it with disdain. However, it managed to win for consecutive years in the sect exchange.

It quickly rises to be a second-rate force; the five major sects were feeling threatened. Losing their rankings is like losing their faces and credibility, as the sects occupying that position for several years, couldn't just accept an unknown sect climbing the ranks under their ranks. They didn't manage to keep their positions this long with just strength alone.

The next sect exchange would happen three months later, to ensure their win they resulted in shady means. Lately, the twin moon sect's disciples have gone missing or 'randomly' attacked while outside.

Yu Hua'er and Yu Xue'er were infuriated with this of course, as the other shadow guards were busy aiding the elders and their parents in the middle realm they have to summon Xing Yi and xing er to investigate this matter.

What they found out though is that their disciples were all killed by a mysterious black fog, they haven't found any evidence or the people behind but they know it belongs to the five great sects by just using their toes to think.

"Xue'er, you're an alchemist. According to the corroded remains can you determine what it is?" Hua'er asked doubtfully as she look at the corroded carcass on the ground with clenched hands. The carcass belongs to one of the twin moon sect disciples.

"I can't. At first glance, it looks like it's done by poison. However, their carcasses showed that their vitalities were absorbed cleanly. There are no such poisons that can do such a thing." she replied with a frown as she examined the corpse.

"Xing Yi, have you found other victims aside from our disciples?" Hua'er looks at Xing Yi who's bowing respectfully with cusp hands.

"second miss, there are many victims from other sects too. But all of them came from second and third sects" he replied thoughtfully, unlike Yu Yue they could act casually with her but to the second and first miss they couldn't, even though they all regarded them with the same level of respect.

"those bastards... for now investigate the five great sects. We have to find a piece of evidence before the sect exchange" Hua'er gnashed her teeth aggravated.

"right, we have to deal with this quickly before it spreads to the outer region. I don't think this matter is simple at all" Xue'er said heavily, she's been researching the cause of corrosion. She's worried those people behind it would go to the outer region, she's especially worried for Yu Yue and the other disciples out there.
