Tommy POV
Tommy didn't think it was possible for time to pass so slowly. Wilbur's phone had died ages ago, or that's what it felt like at least. In reality, it had only been a matter of minutes. But not having the option to text Wilbur made time drag on.
He continued hiding in his room, haunted by the shadows and whispers of the house. He kept glancing out the window, expecting someone to be there, but no one ever was. Every minute that went by dragged time on more and more. Where was Wilbur? Was he okay? Had he changed his mind? His thoughts were filled with worry and panic, urging him to hide more and more.
Suddenly he heard his front door open. Sitting up straighter with his eyes locked on the door, he held his breath. What if it wasn't Wilbur? Was was he going to do? He was about to climb under his bed when he stopped, hearing someone calling his name.
"Toms! Toms are you here?!" It was Wilbur, he realized with relief. Other voices called out his name, people he registered as his friends, Techno and Phil.
Jumping out of his bed, he looked again towards the window, this time out of habit, before slowly opening his door. "Wilbur!" he shouted, hesitantly walking down the hall. Turning the corner, he spotted the familiar brunette along with, as he assumed, Phil and Techno.
"Tommy!" Wilbur exclaimed with relief, rushing over to the blonde and bringing him into a safe hug. He smiled, leaning into the touch, suddenly very glad that his mother had forced him to call the brunette. Now he didn't have to be alone. They stood there for a moment before Wilbur finally pulled back, relief filling his features.
"Glad to see you're alright kid." Techno commented, ruffling his hair, much to Tommy's annoyance. But as much as Tommy always complained, he couldn't help but grow fond of the action.
"Of course I'm alright. I'm a big man, I can take care of myself." Tommy said proudly, folding his arms like Techno.
The pinkette rolled his eyes, chuckling, "Sure, keep telling yourself that kid."
"You all ready to go?" Phil asked, causing Tommy to look at him in confusion.
"Go?" he repeated, trying to figure out if he had heard him right. They wanted to take him with them?
"He means we're kidnapping you." Techno said shortly, staring at the teen.
"That's illegal." Phil reminded him, shaking his head with disapproval.
"But that's exactly what we're doing. We aren't giving him any options except to come with us. That's kidnapping last time I checked." Techno pointed out.
"Shut up Tech. He wants to go with us. There's a difference." Wilbur rolled his eyes playfully, before turning back to Tommy. "I want you to come stay with us until your parents come back."
"But my-" Tommy began, knowing his parents hated when he didn't tell them where he was going.
"I already told them." he interrupted. "They think it's a great idea. I just want you to feel safe Toms." Wilbur paused, a look of angry forming on his face. "And I want to be the one to kill whoever threatened you, if they dare to show their face."
"That's illegal." Techno said, making sure to sound exactly like Phil.
"Yeah, but I know he's overexaggerating. You're the one I have to worry about." Phil explained, a mix of amusement as well as worry shining in his eyes. It was no wonder he was the father of the group.
"What- I-"
The two continued bickering as Wilbur turned to Tommy, whispering, "Let's go get your stuff."
Tommy nodded, leaving the two to their arguing. He lead Wilbur down the hall and into his room. Looking through his closet, he grabbed a bag and quickly began stuffing it with necessities.
"I'm really glad you're okay Toms." Wilbur smiled, helping the blonde grab a few things.
"And I'm glad you came." Tommy grinned back, adding, "Sorry it was so late though. I'm sure you were hoping to sleep a bit longer." He couldn't help but feel a little guilty.
But to his surprise, Wilbur's smile didn't falter. "No worries. I just want you to feel safe."
Tommy let out a laugh. "Between the three of you it's impossible to not feel safe." He pulled on his jack and shoes. "Sometimes you're too overprotective though."
"That's our job." Wilbur smirked, grabbing Tommy's bag and swinging it over his shoulder. "So you might as well get used to it, because we're not going anywhere."
"I guess I'll have to." Tommy pretended to sound annoyed. But he couldn't imagine his life without his chosen family. And he didn't want to.
Wilbur smile widened, pulling him into another hug, resting his chin on the blonde's head. Chuckling, he said, "You know you don't mind it. You like having two big brothers and an overprotective dad."
Tommy sighed dramatically before admitting defeat. "I guess so..." He hugged the older back, hiding the smile that was growing on his face.
And he knew he wouldn't change it for the world.
