Tommy POV
A rock skipped forward, casting a small splash in the puddle ahead. The blonde continued mindlessly walking, kicking it once more. Again the rock tumbled forward, repeating the process over and over again. Tommy shivered as more and more rain dripped down his back. He didn't bother to zip his coat up, even though it would have granted him warmth. He just didn't care.
It was hard to believe that only a few hours ago, it had been one of the most beautiful days of the week. Sunny and warm, there had been tons of people out and about. But looking at the streets now, it was deserted.
Tommy stuffed his hands further into his pockets. He wished he had never come in the first place. Maybe then he wouldn't feel like this. Maybe then he would still be happy. But deep down, Tommy knew it was inevitable. After all, he knew she wasn't happy.
First it was the unanswered texts. Days would go by without any response. And the more he seemed to text, the more time there was between calls. Then came the cancellations. Their dates were constantly pushed back further and further. It got to the point where Tommy stopped asking. He had been hoping for a break, or at least some explanation as to why she didn't like him anymore. The last thing he expected was to get cheated on.
Tommy kicked the stone into the street, pausing in consideration. He knew better than to go after it, but it didn't make it hurt any less. A car raced by, crushing the rock and sending water onto Tommy. The blonde didn't move. He just continued to stare. He wasn't sure if he would ever see blue skies again.
It didn't take long for the tears to mix with the rain. Anyone passing by would have seen a stranger standing in the rain. They wouldn't have seen the broken boy that stood there.
A sudden vibration forced Tommy out of his trance. Slowly pulling out his phone, he tried to shield the screen from the rain. He sighed at the nickname.
Wilby
He waited for a few seconds until the call disappeared. Taking a deep breath, he was about stuff his phone back into his pocket, but he paused. Since when did he have so many messages? Fifteen calls?
Phil- 4 missed calls
Tech- 6 missed calls
Wilby- 5 missed calls
Wilby-
Where are you??
I thought we were going to have a movie night tonight! :(
Tommyyyyy
Seriously are you okay?
Toms?
Tech-
Where are you nerd?
Wilbur's really worried
Tommy?
Please answer!
Now you're worrying me!
Phil-
Toms, you okay?
Why aren't you answering??
Do you need me to come get you?!
Tommy!
Please answer!!
Tommy swallowed, shoving his phone into his pocket. Now he was making his family worry. He looked up towards the sky. Was the rain getting heavier? It was probably his imagination... nothing more.
The blonde walked further, considering taking the long way home. Maybe he just shouldn't go home at all. It would give him the space he wanted and he wouldn't have to tell them all what happened... But he knew how much they worry. And he had promised Wilbur a movie night. And who was going to help Phil cook dinner? He certainly wouldn't allow Techno or Wilbur in the kitchen. And who was going to show interest in Techno's mythology stories? Besides, he knew they weren't the kind of people to sit around and do nothing. Considering how protective they were, he was surprised they weren't out looking for him now.
