Techno POV
Techno sighed with relief as he stepped into his house, almost immediately getting hit by warmth. Shivering, he pulled off his cape and headed towards the fireplace to all it to dry. Hanging it up, he suddenly stopped.
He wasn't alone.
"What are you doing here Dream?" he asked calmly, though his words were drowning in venom. This was the person who had hurt his little brother. And he knew he would never be able to forgive him for that.
"You have a very nice house Techno. Hasn't changed a bit since the last time I was here." the figure commented. Techno could practically see the smirk under his mask.
"You'll have to remind me of when that was. It's been a long time since we last spoke." the pinkette crossed his arms, remembering their last conversations in the prison. Those three months had been awful. But what made it worse was when he found out everything that had happened to Tommy. Knowing the blonde had gone through all that and Dream found it hysterical.
"I believe it was when I was searching for Tommy..." Dream began, glancing towards the man. He could his glare burning a hole through him. If looks could kill, Dream would be killed in an instant. "Which is actually why I came here."
Techno's eyes narrowed. "He's not here if that's what you're here for." And even if he was there I still wouldn't give him to you, he added silently. He would never give his little brother to that monster.
"I know that." Dream studied him. "He's dead." Techno stared at him, knowing he wanted a reaction to the news. But Techno didn't show any change of expression. That was one of the biggest differences between him and Dream, Techno didn't need a mask to cover his emotions.
Techno could feel his heart crack at his words, a wave of guilt and anger crashing into him. But still he showed nothing. Only someone who truly knew him would have seen the light disappear from his eyes. "That's why you broke into my house?" he questioned, clearing his throat. "Just to tell me something that could have easily been written in a letter?"
"I figured you would want to know as soon as possible. He is your brother after all."
"He betrayed me. I don't care for traitors." Techno growled, hating the words even more as he said them. Tommy had apologized only a week before, explaining everything. They had made up. They were healing. To Techno, he was the furthest thing from a traitor. He was his brother.
"Interesting." Dream continued, his voice trailing off. "So I would assume that you don't care how he died?"
"Unless it's something that's a threat to me, then no." Techno didn't need to be told who had done it. The murderer was standing right in front of him. Clenching his fists, he stared at the blonde, attempting to bottle his anger up. Oh how he wanted to kill the blonde. But that seemed like too much mercy. He wanted Dream to feel every pain Tommy did.
Dream eyed him carefully, seemingly lost in thought. "It shouldn't be a threat to you."
"Good." Techno finally looked away, turning his back t them man. "Now leave."
"As you wish." Dream stood up, slowly walking to the door. "Farewell old friend."
"Farewell Dream."
The blonde hesitated before walking out, closing the door behind him. Techno waited for a few minutes. Once he was sure he was alone, he finally allowed the glass in the bottle to shatter. Falling to the ground, he sobbed.
That was the first night of many that he cried.
