Techno POV
Techno stood there, still trying to process what Tommy said. Where was he planning on going? And more importantly, what happened? Techno never thought he would see the day that Tommy depended on smoking. Especially after what happened to Wilbur. Why didn't he come to one of them for help?
"Are you really still smoking Wil?! I thought you had it under control!" Phil demanded, crossing his arms.
Wilbur groaned, "I don't smoke anymore... at least not as often."
The two went back to arguing, much to Techno's dismay. Why did they always have to focus on something other than Tommy? Weren't they worried about him too?
Sighing, Techno headed upstairs and left the two to argue. He wanted to make sure Tommy was okay.
Knocking on the door, he stopped. Was that crying? "Tommy? Toms can I come in?" Trying the doorknob, he was shocked to find it was locked. Since when did Tommy lock his door? His heart broke as he thought of how hurt Tommy was. And he still didn't know why. "Tommy please. I can help you."
He couldn't hear Tommy crying anymore, which scared him. He needed to make sure Tommy was okay. Walking to the end of the hall, he stood on his tippy toes. All the keys for the rooms were hidden above the doorframe. They were only to be used for emergencies and Techno deemed this as one. Grabbing the small key, he rushed back to Tommy's door.
Quickly, he unlocked it and slid inside. He felt his heart drop as soon as he saw the open window. An abandoned suitcase lay on the bed, several things littered around it. That was the same suitcase Tommy had brought when being adopted. That's when the realization hit him.
Tommy thought they were going to send him back. That's what he had meant, that's why he was so upset. But why would Tommy ever think such a thing?
Glancing towards the window, Techno intended to find out.

Tommy POV
Tommy let out another puff of smoke. A gust of wind blew through him, making him shiver. He wished he would have brought a coat, at least that way the wind wouldn't be so cold. A part of him regretted coming up there, but he knew he couldn't stay home. He just couldn't.
Leaning back against the roof, he looked up at the sky. It looked so much grayer than before, even though it had hardly changed.
He heard the window open and he sighed, figuring he knew who it was. "Tubs, what are you-" He stopped as he saw who it was. "Techno?" he whispered in disbelief. What was he doing here?
"So Tubbo meets you up here? Does he smoke too?" he questioned.
"Go away Techno, I don't want you here." Tommy turned away, still thinking about what he had heard.
Techno sat behind him, saying nothing.
"Are you deaf? I told you to-" Tommy exclaimed, his annoyance reaching its peak.
"I didn't think you still remembered this place." Techno said suddenly, laying down beside Tommy. "I thought you forgot."
Tommy looked at him, puzzled. What was he talking about? "I'm not sure I know what you mean."
Techno chuckled, "So you don't remember." Glancing towards Tommy, he frowned. Rolling his eyes, he slipped off his jacket and offered it to the blonde. "Put this on before you catch a cold."
"Tech-" he began, but Techno cut him off.
"Don't argue, just take it, alright?"
Tommy sighed, pulling the warm jacket on. As much as he hated to admit it, he was grateful for the warmth. "Thanks." he mumbled. He looked away, bringing the cigarette to his lips again.
"This used to be a secret hideout." Techno glanced towards Tommy, pausing. "I'm not surprised you don't remember, we started taking you when you were very young. We would always run up here when we needed to get away for a while, away from Phil or some responsibilities. But once Wilbur and I got cars we didn't really need this place anymore. I guess we forgot what made this place special to begin with."
Tommy looked at him, questions gleaming in his eyes. "What?"
Techno sighed, "You."
The blonde couldn't believe his ears. "Me? Why did I make it special?"
"You loved this place more than anything. You would lay up here for hours on end just staring up at the sky. I don't know how you didn't get bored, but somehow you didn't. You would make Wilbur and I laugh so much that we couldn't stop laughing. And seeing you that happy, made us happy. And when we stopped coming, we forgot about you." Techno explained, ruffling his blonde hair. He sighed, regret pooling in his eyes. "I'm sorry we haven't been there for you Tommy. But I'm here now. So can you tell me what's wrong? I know you wouldn't stop smoking without a reason."
Tommy bit his lip, staring back at the sky. Techno had no idea what he had done, that much was obvious. And that somehow made it all worse. "I-I-" he took a deep breath. "I heard you and Wil the other night... you said you were embarrassed to have me as a brother and-" he swallowed, hoping to stop his tears. "You said I wasn't living up to the family name! And- and- I just thought you were going to send me back... I mean why would you keep a disappointment like me in the family?"
Techno froze beside him, instantly knowing what he was referring to. "Oh Toms, I'm so sorry you heard that. I-I-" he stopped, trying to find a way to explain it. "Wilbur and I got into an argument that night about you and I- God, I wish I could take that all back. I was just so angry and the words just came." He turned to Tommy, his head hanging low. "I didn't mean any of that stuff I said, and I can promise you Wilbur didn't either."
Tommy sighed, closing his eyes. "If you said it, you obviously thought it."
Techno ran a hand through his hair. "I'm so sorry Tommy. And I know that there isn't any apology that can take the words I said back. I-" He turned away, wiping the tears from eyes. "I'm so sorry. But please know that we would never send you back in a million years. We wouldn't be a family without you."
Tommy searched his face for any sign of dishonesty, surprised to find none. But that still didn't make it all better. It would take a long time for Tommy to trust Techno and Wilbur again, but he was willing to try.
"Can you please make me a promise though?" Techno looked at him. "Please stop smoking, come to us instead. I just- I don't want to lose you Tommy."
Tommy felt his heart break at his words. Without even thinking, he engulfed Techno in a hug. He knew there was no way to change the past. But Techno was still trying to look out for him and that meant something. He knew Techno was right, it was better to come to them for help. "I-I can try Techno."
Techno hugged back, holding him tightly. "That's all I ask Tommy."
"And I'll try to forgive you too Tech. I just... It'll take some time." Tommy admitted.
"Take all the time you need."
It took a while, but Tommy eventually stopped smoking. He grew closer to his brothers and forgave them over time.
In the end he loved them and that's all that mattered.
