Tommy POV

"Tommy? Earth to Tommy!"

Tubbo's voice shattered his thoughts, taking him out of the daze he was in. "Wha-what?" he stammered, shifting his focus towards the brunette.

"You've been staring off into space for like five minutes now! You feeling okay?" the teen studied him like an open book, worry laced in his gaze.

Tommy nodded, giving him a fake smile. "Yeah, I'm just tired. That math test killed me." He gave a halfhearted chuckle, hoping it would be convincing enough. He failed to mention how dizzy he felt and how he felt like one whiff of any kind of food was sure to put him over the edge. The truth was, he had been feeling awful since the moment he woke up. He still managed to slip out of the house, his illness hidden fairly well.

But one look from Tubbo and he knew he didn't believe him. "Dude your pale." he pointed out, holding his hand out to feel his forehead.

Tommy quickly dodged it, getting to his feet. Black spots mixed into his vision, making him stumble. Why did he have to get up so fast? "I'm fine-" he swallowed, shaking his head. "I-I should probably head home."

Tubbo got to his feet, his concern only increasing. "There is no way I'm letting you walk home by yourself." He reached into his pocket, grabbing his phone. "I'm calling your brothers."

"They're at work." Tommy lied, knowing full well they were lounging on the couch at home. They always got home about an hour before he did and they always waited for him. Tommy always stayed after school with Tubbo, usually hanging out at his house. This week, however, they had a project assigned and were lucky enough to be partners. So they had been staying after school everyday.

"Tommy, I'm not letting you walk home by yourself." Tubbo said more sternly. He meant it, he was not letting his best friend out of his sight. He cursed under his breath, obviously wishing he could be the one to accompany him.

Tommy closed his eyes, leaning against a bookshelf. The cool wood felt like Heaven to his head. "I can make it." he mumbled, mostly trying to convince himself. Every part of him knew it was the biggest lie he could have told. He could barely walk a few steps without feeling like he was going to pass out.

Tubbo thought for a moment. "I'm going to walk you home. I just need to let Niki know what's going on." Tommy shook his head, knowing Tubbo had promised to help Niki. He had promised to help her sort through some books after working on their project. And while he felt bad cancelling, he knew she would understand. It was Niki after all. He paused, looking Tommy dead in the eyes. "Stay here."

Tommy rolled his eyes. "I-I can walk home by myself." His piercing blue eyes glared at the brunette, even though he knew Tubbo was just being his friend. He knew he should be grateful. But he couldn't help but be anything but independent.

"Stay here." Tubbo repeated, again staring into his eyes. "I mean it."

Tommy reluctantly nodded, shifting from foot to foot. "H-hurry up then." he croaked.

Tubbo walked away, looking over his shoulder a few times before disappearing around the corner. As soon as the blonde was sure he was out of sight, he began limping towards the entrance. He knew he could make it. His house was only a few blocks away anyway.

Taking a deep breath, he grew more confident with every step. He could make it. He just kept repeating that phrase in his head. Soon enough, he was on the sidewalk, his house in sight.

He didn't need Tubbo to worry about him. He was perfectly fine. Besides, he would just sleep it off anyway. He stepped into the street, not even glancing towards the crossing sign. Maybe if he wasn't on the brink of fainting he would have remembered.

But he got too confident. One too many steps and the darkness began to dot his vision again. He closed his eyes, trying to blink it away. But the darkness only seemed to grow. Two headlights raced towards him. And before he knew it, he heard the screeching of tires.

And all he could see was black.
