Tommy POV

Tommy had every intention of having a good day. The moment he opened his eyes, he had a bright smile on his face like he did everyday. He couldn't help it, he was just so grateful for the life he lived.

Having been adopted after his real parents passed, he didn't think he could ever find that kind of love again. And then he met Phil. One of the most stubborn people he had ever been forced to live with. Tommy had counted down the days to when he thought Phil would get rid of him. It was only a matter of time in the blonde's eyes. But no matter how many times Tommy messed up, Phil kept him. Through all the arguments about Tommy sneaking out to his night terrors. Phil was with him through it all.

And that's not to mention the two brothers he had learned to love over the years. The moment he met them, he knew they were going to drive him crazy. For one, they were super overprotective from the moment they first laid eyes on the blonde. Always making sure he was safe at school, they would chase away anyone who so much as looked at Tommy. It's a miracle how Tommy even managed to survive the first few months. But after tons of complaints and arguments, he quickly realized they were never going to change. And if he was going to be part of the family, he was going to have to live with it.

Eventually he grew to love their protective nature. After being in so many different homes, it was nice to finally feel safe.

After pulling on clothes and heading downstairs, Tommy was about to grab cereal when Phil stopped him.

"Not today Toms. Remember what the doctor said? No food before getting your bloodwork done," he ruffled the boy's hair, kissing him on the forehead. Tommy would never admit it, but that small gesture always made him smile.

"Not even a snack?" Tommy whined as his stomach rumbled.

Phil laughed, "Not even a snack."

The blonde huffed, sitting down in defeat. He hated going anywhere without eating first. Folding his arms, he settled on just glaring at the table.

Techno walked in, his hair perfectly braided as usual. How his hair was always so perfect without fail, Tommy would never understand. The older nodded to him, immediately heading to the cereal that Tommy had almost grabbed. He sighed loudly, slumping back even further in his chair.

The pinkette raised an eyebrow, "What's with you?"

"He can't eat until he gets his bloodwork done," Phil quickly explained, grabbing another bowl. He set it down beside Techno, filling it with cereal.

Techno nodded in understanding, having just gone through the same thing a month prior. "Since when did you like cereal, Dad?"

"This is for Wilbur. It's the only way to save us from being late."

Right on cue, Wilbur stumbled into the kitchen. Unlike Techno, his hair was a complete mess. Somehow he always managed to wake up late, to the point where it was an actual routine. Wilbur ruffled Tommy's hair, not missing how Tommy leaned into his touch. He dove into the chair beside Techno, already scooping as much cereal into his mouth as he could.

"How do you always manage to wake up later every single morning?" Techno didn't understand, putting his empty bowl in the sink.

"What can I say? Mornings are just not my thing," Wilbur shrugged.

"More like you just keep on staying up late working on your music." Techno grumbled.

Tommy's ears perked up at that. "You're working on a new song?!" He loved listening to Wilbur's music more than anything. In fact, Tommy would claim himself to be Wilbur's number one fan. And the brunette knew that. He would sing to Tommy most nights, beaming from ear to ear as the blonde sang with him. Tommy always made a point to memorize every word of Wilbur's songs.

Wilbur chuckled, "It's an idea. It's not anything yet, Toms."

"Everything you make is good!"

The older smiled at that, shaking his head. "I wish that were true-"

"We're going to be late boys! Hurry up!" a shout came from the living room, where Phil was already grabbing his keys.

Wilbur poured the rest of his cereal into his mouth, dropping his bowl in the sink before running to his room. Techno and Tommy laughed at his shenanigans. Techno wrapped an arm around Tommy, walking them towards the front door. "Sorry Wil and I can't be at your appointment, Toms. I know how much you hate them."

Tommy leaned in closer to him, "It's okay. There's not much you can do about school."

Once they reached the door, Techno stopped and turned completely to Tommy. "But you know you can always call us, right? Both of us would be there in a heartbeat."

The blonde nodded, "Thanks Tech." Techno smiled, leaning in and kissing the boy's forehead. Tommy grinned, knowing it was rare for Techno to show that much emotion to anyone. He chuckled, knowing Techno had a soft spot for him.

"Wilbur come on!" Phil shouted, walking past the brothers to reach for the door. "I can not come up with another excuse as to why I'm dropping you boys off late!"

"Coming!" Wilbur nearly tripped down the stairs, attempting to pull on his coat while also tying his shoes. Techno caught him by the arms, rolling his eyes. "I'm here, aren't I? We're not late yet!" the brunette exclaimed.

"Emphasis on yet," Techno commented.

The four of them headed out the door, each of them dreading the day ahead. Phil dreaded the thought of having to go back to work. There were just some problems he just couldn't fix. And people couldn't understand that.

Techno dreaded the speech he had been preparing for college. As an English major, he was forced to take a public speaking class. And that meant writing his own speeches and performing them. And if there was one thing Techno hated, it was public speaking.

Wilbur dreaded returning home to work on a song that he wasn't even sure was a song. It was a string of ideas written into notes. Most of which did not work together in the slightest. He was afraid that all his efforts to be a musician were in vain. That his dream could never become reality.

Tommy dreaded the hospital more than anything. Just the white walls and squeaky clean floors were enough to make him want to bolt. He used to wake up in hospitals by the week, each one coming with a new lie to explain the bruises. Just going back to a place with such bad memories brought his insecurities back to life.

Buckling his seat belt, he was sure he was in for a long day.

And how right he was.
