Phil POV

"See that right there? That constellation is Auriga." Phil pointed towards a collection of stars. Tommy babbled in his arms, looking for only a moment before finding more interest in Phil's necklace. "Old myths tell a story of a great charioteer taught by Athena herself. They say he was one of the greatest chariot racers of his time. The goat he is supposedly holding is said to have nursed Zeus. No one is quite sure why the charioteer holds though."

Tommy giggled, making Phil smile.

He observed the sky once more, pausing before pointing out another constellation. "That there is Taurus, the bull. It's difficult to make out completely, but I can see a bit of it. Some say it's one of the oldest constellations, going back thousands of years." Phil thought for a moment. "It's one of Kristin's favorites. She's the one that fills my head with all these crazy stories. She's fascinated by them."

The baby finally stopped chewing on the emerald. He yawned before holding his arm up, seemingly pointing towards another part of the sky.

Phil chuckled, pretending that the baby was still interested. "You've pointed out Techno and Wilbur's favorite. Gemini, the twins. When Kristin told them about the brothers, she pretended the constellation was a reflection of them." He smiled at the memory, thinking of how amazed the boys had been. "Techno and Wilbur, two brothers who were destined to be heroes some day." Glancing over his shoulder, he smiled softly. Techno and Wilbur were sound asleep beside the fire, Wilbur using Techno's cape as a blanket.

"T-Tec-" Phil turned back to Tommy. "W-W-" The baby tried mimicking the names, only able to speak a syllable or two.

"That's right. Techno and Wilbur, your new brothers." Phil frowned, looking at them once more. He thought back to their disgust earlier of the younger boy. Wilbur had made it clear he was unhappy about their newest member, often glaring at the baby. Techno was a bit more subtle, simply moving as far away as possible from the giggling child. Phil readjusted Tommy in his arms. "It seems they have forgotten how I found them."

Tommy tilted his head to the side, staring intently. Phil chuckled, "Kristin and I found Wilbur as a baby in the woods. We were heading back from one of our adventures and just happened to come across him. He was wrapped in an old blanket, probably abandoned by a mother who just couldn't take care of him. Without hesitation we brought him home, Kristin immediately filling the role of a mother." Phil smiled fondly. "It wasn't long before he was calling her mama."

"He was reckless child, always finding trouble. I wouldn't tell you how many glasses we had to replace over the years. Between breaking them and losing them, sometimes I forgot he even wore glasses," Phil laughed, causing Tommy to giggle. "We thought our family was complete just the three of us. That was until we took Techno in."

"Our friend Puffy came to us, having rescued him from an abduction. Because he was part piglin, we was valuable to some evil people. We were only supposed to be fostering him while Puffy searched for his parents." Phil could still remember the terrified look in the boy's eye. "He didn't trust us in the slightest, which didn't surprise me after everything he had gone through. But over time we were able to find some trust between us. He and Wilbur quickly hit it off once he was comfortable. He became the older brother that Wilbur always wanted. The two were inseparable ever since."

Tommy yawned, fighting against sleep. Phil carefully laid down, readjusting Tommy to where he was laying beside him in his cloak. "I've kept you up too late already. Go to sleep Toms," he whispered.

The baby cuddled closer to him before fully shutting his eyes. In only took a few moments for sleep to take hold. Phil took one more glance at his sons and the smoking fire before making sure his sword was beside him. Then he sighed softly and closed his eyes, willing sleep to take him.

--------------

The next morning, the four of them were awake bright and early. Techno and Wilbur took the lead, following the river's path like they had done several times before. Phil was a few steps behind, Tommy still in his grasp.

The wintery woods had begun springing green. Little sprouts and buds had begun shooting through the branches of the trees, adding just a little more color. Daffodils and tulips had begun their climb, their flowers still waiting to awaken. The four of them continued on, the flowing stream reflecting their every move.

Two hours blended into four before they finally came to the beautiful sight of home. A small cabin surrounded by forest greeted them, the chimney choking up smoke. A farm sat beside the house, springing with all kinds of animals. Chickens, pigs, sheep, even a few rabbits Wilbur had rescued a few weeks ago.

Avoiding the ribbiting pond, their horses headed towards the stables, even more excited than them. The three of them guided each horse into the right stall, taking off the saddle and bridle before making sure they had enough food and water. Techno offered to take care of Phil's horse, allowing the man to head straight to the cabin.

There Kristin stood, her hands on her hips. "You said you'd be home yesterday! I was worried sick! Another day and I would have rode out to find you!" she shouted, her black curls falling beneath her shoulders.

Phil chuckled, "We got a little sidetracked." He unveiled his cloak, revealing the cause of their added day. The baby looked up towards the woman, a cross between curiosity and fear sparking in his blue eyes.

"Oh my goodness!" she exclaimed, immediately snatching the child from his arms. She held up the baby, grinning from ear to ear and cooing, "Look how adorable you are!"

"His name's Tommy." he informed.

She rolled her eyes, "A name from you I suspect?"

"You got to name Wilbur! I figured it was my turn!" he erupted playfully.

Kristin shrugged, all her attention falling back to the baby. "You must be so cold and hungry!" she exclaimed, rushing back into the house to find warm clothes and a bottle. Tommy would quickly become her favorite.

Much to the fury of two pairs of watchful eyes.
