Tommy POV

Tommy had never been so relieved in all his life. Of course, he was terrified too. The last thing he wanted was to get scowled at. But that seemed like the least of his worries.

The pair of men exchanged looks. Before Techno had even reached the ground, they turned on their heel and bolted as far as they could. But the blood god wasn't feeling merciful. Not tonight. Tonight the voices were screaming out in revenge.

Techno didn't even stop to check on Tommy. Which could only mean one thing. Wilbur wasn't far behind him. Without another glance, the pinkette was out of sight.

Tommy sighed, running a hand through his hair. That was close. Maybe a little too close.

Another pair of feet landed beside him, quickly enveloping him in a tight hug. "Thank God, you're alright," Wilbur murmured. Tommy hugged him back, enjoying the calm before the storm. It lasted for only a moment before the brunette pulled back. "What on earth were you thinking?! You gave the three of us a heart attack! We thought you had been kidnapped or something-"

"So Phil knows?" Tommy bit his lip.

"Not to mention finding Tubbo gone!" Wilbur exclaimed, his cheeks flushing with anger. "You could have gotten hurt or worse, killed!"

Tommy looked down at his shoes. Wilbur made it sound so much more dangerous... Like their lives had really been at risk. But Tommy hadn't intended that at all. All he wanted to do was prove himself. And in trying to do that, he had only made things worse.

Wilbur took a deep breath, rubbing his temples. "Do you understand how serious this is?"

"I'm sorry, Wil," Tommy finally met his eyes. "I-I didn't mean for any of this to happen."

The brunette nodded in understanding. He couldn't help but think back to his childhood. Back when Wilbur and Techno were the ones getting in trouble. Wrapping an arm around the blonde, he began steering him back home. "Let's just head home, Toms."

They were about to head back when Tommy froze in his tracks. "What about Tubbo? Is he okay?"

Wilbur nodded, "He's the one who warned us about you being in trouble." Sensing his worry hadn't subsided, he added, "He's safe, Tommy."

The blonde nodded. The two continued the rest of the walk in silence, checking around every corner to make sure they weren't being followed. Walking slowly, they were able to blend in. Eventually they returned to their hideout, an old warehouse that they had refurnished into their home. From the outside it looked abandoned, with shattered windows and crumbling walls. But deep within, through a few secret door ways, they shared a warm and cozy home.

Tommy entered first, with Wilbur right behind. A few rooms in and they found the old bookcase. Selecting the right book, they gained access to a secret tunnel. One step after the other, Tommy couldn't help but stall. Just the thought of Phil's angry eyes was enough to make him want to turn around.

But Wilbur wouldn't allow it. Pushing the boy forward, he whispered, "There's no avoiding it, Toms. But I'll be with you the entire time."

"He's going to be so angry," Tommy shivered.

"But he'll be glad you're safe," Wilbur reminded him, gently pushing him forward another step.

Again the blonde paused, "Maybe I should return when he's not so angry-"

"Tommy."

Tommy sighed, knowing Wilbur was right. The longer he waited, the worse it would be. Taking one more deep breath, he stepped inside.

Even in the silent house, Tommy knew Phil was waiting. Sitting in his armchair in the living room, reading his book like always. Wilbur guided him to the living room, wrapping an arm around the trembling boy.

For a moment, Phil didn't say anything. It almost made Tommy feel worse. He wished Phil would jump up and yell at him. Ground him for all he cared. All he wanted was to get out of his drowning silence.

"I'm sorry, Phil. I didn't mean to make you worry," Tommy spoke quietly. Part of him hoped that apologizing would make the punishment a little gentler.

Phil slowly rose out of the chair, "You scared me, Tommy." His face was unreadable, filled with too many emotions to distinguish between. "You're forbidden to leave the hide out until I see otherwise."

Again, Tommy couldn't help but bite his lip.

A soft smile filled his face, "But I'm so glad you're safe." Without another moment to lose, the man rushed forward, taking his son in his arms. "Please, for the love of God, don't do that again."

Tommy melted in his embrace, "I'm sorry, Phil."

They stood there for a moment before Phil grew stern again. "But I did mean it when I said you were grounded."

The blonde pulled out of the embrace, "For how long?" he exclaimed. The last thing he wanted was to be cooped in this house. Of course, he had often been stuck in the house. But at least he had training to look forward to.

"A month at least," Phil crossed his arms.

"A MONTH?!" To him it sounded like a life sentence.

"Be glad it wasn't four," Wilbur mumbled.

Phil chuckled, "You did a bit more than just sneak out, if you remember Wilbur."

Tommy was about to ask what Wilbur did, when there was a sudden clash behind them. The three of them whipped around.

There Techno stood, swearing under his breath. All around him were overturned chairs and books. His red eyes turned to them, glaring up a storm. Upon spotting Tommy, he shouted, "Do you even realize what you've done?!"

Tommy shrunk back, stepping behind Wilbur out of habit.

"Now they know we're on to them! Any chance of gaining that information is lost thanks to you!" The older snarled.

"Tech, he didn't mean anything-"

"I told him not to do anything stupid! I told him he was too young to worry about this kind of thing! And what does he do?! He goes and messes it all up!"

By now Techno was fuming, only a few steps away from Tommy.

"Techno." Phil's voice brought him back to reality. "Calm down."

"Can't you see what he's done?" Techno growled, "Now we'll never have the upper hand! And we were so close to being safe again! Now we're in more danger than ever! And it's all his-"

A door slammed, making all of them turn.

In all the commotion, Tommy had slipped away, as he usually did. He knew it was all his fault. He certainly didn't need to be reminded of it. He was always getting into trouble. Always creating problems for his brothers to clean up after him. Tommy wasn't surprised Techno was so angry. He expected it really.

But to hear those words was another story.

As soon as the door closed behind him, Tommy couldn't stop the tears from coming.

He didn't even make it to his bed before he broke down.
