Wilbur POV

"Where on earth is he?! He's knows it's movie night! Usually, he's the one racing to be the first person out of class," Wilbur groaned, tapping impatiently on the old, dusty dashboard. Techno glared at him for a moment, taking a slow breath, as if he were trying to hold back a storm.

"He's been acting strange all day," Techno remarked, his eyes still glued to the imprints of his knuckles in the dust.

The tapping intensified, mirroring his heartbeat. "I noticed that too. Sure, he's been nervous about tests before, but never to this extent. And math is his strongpoint! I would argue that's what his brain is wired for." He paused, thinking back to the list of observations in his head. "And after finding him on the floor, which I thought was really-"

Techno sat up straighter, his feet hitting the ground. His amber eyes fell into Wilbur's, a new emotion brewing. "What do you mean 'after finding him on the floor'?"

Wilbur gulped, "I found him on the floor during passing time. He said it was due to the crowded hallways. Said he got tripped or something. But they didn't seem any more crowded than usual. I honestly thought they were pretty empty..." He watched as Techno began to clutch his knuckles.

"There's something he's not telling us."

The tapping stopped all together.

"You think... he's getting bullied?" his voice barely came above a whisper. That was the conclusion he feared the most. Just the thought of it made his heart sink.

Techno sighed, burying his face in his hands. "It's possible."

"But he would tell us, right? He wouldn't keep something like that to himself, would he?" Wilbur shook his head confidently, ignoring the doubts growing in his head. "Especially when he knows we could help him!"

"You weren't too keen on telling me you were getting bullied."

Wilbur shifted uncomfortably, unconsciously touching his arms. Sometimes he felt like the bruises were still there, embedded in his skin. "That was different. I... I thought I was a burden." He didn't want to think of those days. The days where he believed he was going to be sent back. The days where he didn't think the home he had come to love with all his heart could ever be permanent. His parents had left him behind. So what was stopping Phil and Kristin from doing the same thing?

Techno grabbed his hand, bringing it away from his arms. He looked him straight in the eyes, stating, "And now you know you're not. You never were a burden." Wilbur smiled, gently squeezing his brother's hand. Upon discovering his secret, Techno had taken care of the bullies. From that day on, they were inseparable, especially at school. It was the moment that truly marked their brotherhood.

"I know," he nodded, finally pulling away. "And we need to make sure Tommy knows too."

Without another thought, the two of them jumped out of the car, set on finding their little brother. Before they even hit the sidewalk, they came to halt.

Tommy walked towards them, pausing slightly as he caught sight of them. He seemed to take a deep breath, whispering something under his breath. Quickening his pace, he was probably already preparing his apology.

"Where were you?" Wilbur shouted over to him, out of worry and concern.

But Tommy didn't take it that way. He thought Wilbur was made at him. "I'm so so sorry! I was talking to my teacher after class and I didn't realize the time-"

"Are you okay?" Techno studied him from head to toe, likely looking for any signs of injuries.

The blonde nodded, slowly. "Of course, why do you ask?" He sounded so confident. But Wilbur could have sworn he saw the sweat dripping down his neck.

The pinkette took a step back, accepting the answer. He took a deep breath, "It's just... You're always the first to the car on Fridays. And it's not like you to just forget..."

Tommy opened his mouth to respond before closing it again. He was calculating an answer. Was he always this rehearsed?

"You know you can tell us anything, right Tommy? It's our job to look after you," Wilbur gently pressed, wanting nothing more than to demand an answer. But he didn't want to scare Tommy or pressure him into something he wasn't comfortable with.

"Is this about me falling earlier?" Tommy finally asked, shrinking down. "I'm just clumsy and I-"

"Are you sure you're okay?" Techno repeated.

This time, Tommy didn't hesitate to nod. "Can we just go home?" He spoke quickly, his eyes pointing towards the school. Was he looking for someone?

"Alright," Techno backed down, heading back towards the car. He exchanged a look with Wilbur, one that the brunette knew well. This wasn't the end of this conversation. And something told Wilbur, that Techno was going to find out what was going on, with or without Tommy's help.

On Monday they were going to put a stop to this.

Whatever this was.
