Tommy POV
"You need to be careful Toms," the blonde couldn't help but roll his eyes at his older brother's protectiveness. He was sixteen now! He certainly didn't need Wilbur breathing down his back every five seconds. Besides, as usual, he was overreacting.
Tommy zipped his backpack closed, before grabbing a water bottle. "I don't understand why you're so worried. I met up with KSI with no problem. What's the difference meeting up with Logan?"
"First of all, I was with you. Second of all, Logan just gives me a bad feeling. He's just been in so many controversies and I don't think he'll look out for you-" Wilbur began.
But Tommy was quick to prevent him from lecturing any further. "Wil, do you ever think you might just be acting a little overprotective?"
The brunette glared at him, making the blonde chuckle. "Sorry if I don't trust everyone you look up to on the internet. I take my role as your older brother very seriously, Tommy. Keeping you safe is no joke." Looking into his warm eyes, Tommy knew he meant every word. And as much as he would tease Wilbur about worrying about him so much, he appreciated it. Though you would never catch him admitting to any soul. "If only Tech wasn't so behind on his project, I would ask him to go with you."
"Yeah, like he would make time for me," Tommy grumbled, swinging his bag over his back. He couldn't help but feel bitter about his other brother. They had once been as close as Wilbur and him, but with college taking over his life, he had seen Techno less and less. Sometimes Tommy couldn't help but wonder if Techno cared about him anymore.
Wilbur sighed, combing his fingers through his hair. "You know he loves you as much as I do."
"He sure has a hard time showing it," the blonde spoke bitterly. "Ever since college took over his life, I've hardly seen him at all. Honestly, it feels like I only have one brother."
"Don't say that!" Wilbur exclaimed, "It would break his heart if he heard that."
"Maybe it would make him come out of his room more often," Tommy muttered before stepping out the door. He wasn't going to wait around for another lecture from his brother. Instead, he focused on the excitement of the day ahead of him.
Setting off in the direction of their meeting spot at the park, Tommy couldn't help but feel a bit nervous. He was excited too, of course. He just didn't want anything to go wrong. After all, he had been planning this for months. It had been quite the struggle, with Logan not responding or cancelling at the last minute. But now the time had finally come. Tommy was going to meet one of the people he looked up to.
Turning down another cobblestone street, he immediately caught sight of the park. It was small compared to most of the other parks in Brighton. Which is one of the reasons Tommy had suggested it. He figured the less popular the place, the better.
Picking up his pace, Tommy glanced at his phone. Ten minutes early. How was that even possible after Wilbur's long lecture. Tommy sat on one of the benches, scrolling through his list of goals for the video. At the top of the list was a simple sentence, but one he wanted to accomplish above all the others.
Don't be annoying.
He bit his lip, reading the sentence over and over again. He wanted Logan to like him, maybe even take him under his wing. Which meant he would have to tone down his personality just a little bit. Based on all the comments from his recent video, people thought he was being too loud. Obviously they were right. And he was grateful they had pointed out to him. But he couldn't help but feel a bit saddened by the idea.
Staring down at his phone, a call popped up, taking over the screen. With a groan, Tommy answered. He knew if he didn't, Wilbur would just skip his band practice to make sure the boy was okay. And the last thing Tommy needed was someone checking on him and making it seem like he couldn't handle himself.
"Wilbur, I can't talk for long-"
"Just promise me something."
Tommy paused, reluctantly nodding. "What?"
"You'll call if something happens."
"Wil-"
"This is important, Tommy. I don't want him picking on you or making you do something stupid. If he makes you uncomfortable in anyway, I want to know," Wilbur stated.
"What so you can beat him up?" Tommy rolled his eyes.
"Obviously. And with Techno on my side, we'll make sure he never does anything again."
"You're just assuming the worst. I'm sure Logan will be nice! I have no reason to think-"
"Just promise me, Toms," Wilbur interrupted him.
Tommy took a deep breath, "Fine. I promise."
And with that he ended the call, just in time to see an expensive looking car pull up.
