TW- smoking

Tommy POV

Tommy yawned, slowly waking up to the blaring sun. He opened his eyes, staring into the bright blue sky above him. Sighing, he knew today wasn't going to go well. He knew the blue sky was too bright for the day.

Beside him, Ranboo and Tubbo stirred, slowly waking up as well. Tubbo groaned, rubbing his eyes with his fist. "What time is it?"

Ranboo glanced at his phone, gasping, "It's almost noon!" He scrambled to his feet, Tubbo right behind him. "My family is going to kill me!" He climbed to the window, only stopping at Tubbo's voice.

"You coming Toms?" Tubbo questioned, noticing that Tommy hadn't moved a muscle.

Tommy waved him off, "You two can go. I'll head back in a little bit." He just wanted to lay under the blue sky for as long as he could, before his day turned gray.

"Are you sure?" Ranboo asked, exchanging a glance with Tubbo. Neither of them wanted to leave Tommy alone. "We don't want to leave you here all by yourself..."

"Positive. I just need some time to think."

The two sighed, reluctantly opening the window and slipping inside. They knew Tommy wouldn't budge, he was too stubborn. So they let him be.

Tommy slipped a pack of cigarettes out of his pocket, picking one out and lighting it. He brought it to his lips, letting out a puff of smoke. He didn't want to go home. But he knew he did have to face them eventually.

He laid there for a few more minutes before finally standing up. Taking one last look at the sky, he climbed into the window. He made his way through the small house, dragging his feet. Maybe if he took longer they would forget he existed.

Glancing down at his phone, he knew that wasn't a possibility.

45 missed calls from Phil

25 missed calls from Wilbur

20 missed calls from Techno

They were going to kill him. They were going to send him back. Feeling his heart rate pick up, he brought the cigarette to his lips. Immediately his muscles relaxed. If Phil was going to send him back, then so be it. He could handle it, he could handle anything. That's what he told himself at least.

Tommy made his way home, continuing to smoke as he went. He tried to calm his nerves, but it was nearly impossible, especially since he knew how angry they would be.

It wasn't long before he spotted the house in front of him. He slowed his speed even more, if that was even possible. Putting it to his lips one final time, dropped the cigarette to the ground, putting it out with his foot. He took a deep breath, running a hand through his messy hair.

Maybe he should just sneak in through his window and pack everything. He could leave before they even noticed. Shaking his head, he knew that wouldn't work. Knowing Phil, he would track him down and the punishment would be even worse.

Taking one final breath, he began walking towards the house. Pausing at the front door, he forced himself to open it. He could do this. At least that was the hope.

Stepping into the house, he froze at the sound of voices.

"Where could he be?! He didn't tell anyone where he was going! He just disappeared!" Phil's distraught voice ran through the house. "You don't think something's happened to him?"

"I don't know..." came Wilbur's uncertain voice.

Tommy couldn't help but roll his eyes. Since when did Wilbur care? He stepped into the living room, just wanting the nightmare to over already.

As soon as he appeared, Phil gasped, relief filling his face. "Tommy!" He stood up, making his way over to him and pulling the blonde into a head. "I thought something had happened to you! Where have you been?" Then he paused, looking up at Tommy with wide eyes. "Have you been smoking?"

Tommy shifted uncomfortably as his tone went from fatherly worry to demanding. He knew this all to well. "What happened to you being worried?" He looked up to see Wilbur and Techno exchanging looks, their eyes as wide as Phil's.

"Thomas have you been smoking?" Phil demanded sternly.

Biting his lip, Tommy was surprised it was this hard to admit it. Reluctantly he nodded, "It helps me calm down." he explained, not mentioning Tubbo or Ranboo. Maybe by some miracle, they wouldn't get in trouble.

"Helps calm you down?! Tommy smoking is horrible for you!" Wilbur exclaimed, unable to keep his mouth shut for any longer.

"Then why do you do it?!" Tommy retorted. "If it's so bad then why do you do it all the time with your buddies? Don't lecture me on something that you do all the time!"

Phil turned to Wilbur, his eyebrows raised. "Wilbur you told me you stopped."

Wilbur sighed, "I've been trying to!" He turned back to Tommy, annoyed. "Tommy I'm trying to stop! I know how bad it is for your health. It's just... it's harder than it looks, alright?"

Techno was studying Tommy with a concerned look on his face. "Why did you need to calm down Toms? What happened?" he asked softly, hoping Tommy would open up.

Tommy turned away stubbornly, "I don't have to tell you anything. After all I know how much you hate me." He walked towards the stairs, not even giving them a chance to respond. He tried to keep up his anger, but it was difficult. He wanted nothing more than to run into his brothers arms and listen to all his reassurances. But he couldn't break. Not in front of Techno. Not after what they had said. "I'll go pack..." he announced.

Voices mixed into sound as he darted upstairs. He didn't care to know what they were saying. He had learned enough from eavesdropping. Pulling out his old suitcase, he began to fill it with things. Old clothes he had gotten from Wilbur and Techno. Henry, his old stuffed cow he had gotten from Phil when he first got there. His bee gift from Tubbo. It was more than he could handle. It wasn't long before his emotions reached his breaking point.

Trembling to his knees, he collapsed on the ground, sobbing. Curling up, he tried to make it all go away. Why did it hurt this much? If they wanted him gone then so be it. With shaky hands, he pulled out his pack of cigarettes, hoping it would calm him down. But even smoking didn't seem to calm him down. The tears kept going as the words continued to repeat in his head.

He didn't want to go back.
