Techno POV
Tommyinnit fell from a high place.
Techno paused as he read the words. Confusion fell over him, wasn't that Tommy's final life? Why would- He stopped abruptly as the realization sank in. Tommy... No. Tommy was happy and safe. Tubbo called it a vacation for crying out loud.
Techno reread the message once more, trying to decipher what it really meant. Tommy couldn't be gone. He couldn't lose another brother. A tear escaped his eye, landing in his palm. He looked on in confusion.
Why did he care? This was the same kid who had used him as a weapon! The same kid who had fought against him on multiple occasions. The same kid who had joined a war... He shook his head. He should be nothing but relieved. This meant Tommy could never bother him again. He could live in peace.
So why did his heart hurt so much? Why did he feel the consequences of failure weighing on him? Why did he find himself wishing he could have caught him? Again he shook his head, climbing the ladder towards his bed. He was being ridiculous. He didn't care about the kid.
Ringing his bell always made him feel better. But as he reached towards it to ring it, his eyes wandered and landed on a small picture. It was one of the only memories he held onto...
It was a picture capturing one of his favorite memories. Tommy was sitting on his shoulders, Techno's crown sliding off his head. He wore the biggest grin Techno had ever seen. Techno, himself, was grinning, laughing at the blonde's excitement. Phil had captured the moment, secretly giving it to Techno to hold onto.
Techno's hand reached out towards the picture. He was quick to wipe off the dust, staring down at the photograph with a sad smile.
And that's when Techno broke down. He would never see his little brother again. He would never see that grin, he would never laugh at his awful jokes. Tommy was gone.
And Techno was heartbroken.
