Techno POV

Techno had seemingly disappeared from the SMP. He was never seen by anyone aside from Phil and that was only because they lived together. Spending most of his time mourning and plotting revenge, he barely had time for anything else.

But one night changed everything.

Techno was sitting in the kitchen, a map spread out across the table. His fingers tapped on the table impatiently, as if he were waiting for something to pop out to him. Crumbled up papers littered the floor around him, reminding him just how long he had been there. Abandoned X's filled the paper, the ink still drying.

Techno looked up at the sound of the front door open. He was greeted by a very unsure Phil. Immediately the pinkette could tell something was wrong. "Phil? What happened?"

The blonde looked up at him, opening his mouth to speak before closing it again. Taking a deep breath, he found the words he wanted to say. "I've just caught word that-" he hesitated, adjusting his bucket hat.

Techno jumped to conclusions, turning back to the map. "Did you finally find where Dream is hiding? I swear as soon as I get my hands on that green ba-"

"Tommy's alive."

Techno froze, everything seemingly coming to a halt. Slowly the man turned to the older, trying to understand if he had heard him right. People didn't come back from the dead... Was Tommy dead in the first place? "What do you mean?"

"I was in L'manberg when I heard Tubbo talking about it. I guess Dream can revive people and he used it on Tommy. The problem is no one knows where he is. He kind of just ran." Phil explained, watching Techno carefully.

"People don't just come back from the dead Phil. And if Dream did that, then why did he kill him in the first place?" Techno expressed his doubts, his heart racing. Was Tommy really alive? Was he really going to see his brother again?

"You know what Dream is like... he probably wanted to teach Tommy a lesson in his own twisted ways." Phil swallowed, uncomfortable with the words he spoke. "I just can't believe we could have let something like this happen." He shook his head, guilt filling every inch of him.

Techno nodded, obviously feeling the exact same way. "We'll make him pay as soon as we find him." he promised, his eyes glowing at the idea of it. He turned towards the door, knowing what was more important right now. Tommy. "I need to find him."

Phil understood, wishing he could offer some kind of help. But no one knew where Tommy was, including him. Placing a hand on Techno's shoulder, he offered a smile. "Be safe."

"I'll bring him home." Techno vowed, heading towards the front door. Waving to Phil, he left the house and walked towards the stable where his trusty steed stood. Carl neighed in greeting at the sight of him, stamping his foot.

Techno mounted the horse after deeming himself ready. He steered him towards the warmer plains, deciding that logstedshire would be the first place to look for his little brother. Pushing Carl forward, he tried to cut the distance between him and Tommy, but the journey still felt as long as ever.

Upon arrival, he dismounted his horse and began searching for the blonde. Calling out his name, he quickly found that Tommy wasn't there. The place was still as destroyed as ever with no signs of life. He couldn't help but feel disappointed, but he pressed on, still feeling the urge to find the blonde. He couldn't let Dream kill him again. He had to protect him. Like he promised he would.

The day passed quickly with Techno running from place to place in the hopes of finding his little brother. But he grew more and more disappointed as the mission seemed more and more pointless. Tommy was no where to be found.

There was only one place Techno had yet to check, mostly because it would be too obvious. Tommy's house. Steering Carl in the direction of his last destination, Techno at least hoped Tommy maybe left a clue to where he had gone.

Spotting the house, Techno dismounted, allowing Carl to roam. Gingerly stepping inside the messy house, he began searching through books and signs, hoping to find something. Running a hand through his hair in defeat, he stopped. Was someone crying?

Turning towards the sound, he took a few steps. His eyes widened as they landed on the sobbing figure of Tommy, sitting on his old bench. Before he knew it, he was sprinting towards the blonde, desperate to hold his little brother safe in his arms again. But he paused, not wanting to scare him. "Tommy?" he asked quietly, causing the blonde to shoot up in alarm.

Fear filled his body as Tommy began to tremble at his name. "T-Techno?" he stammered, his once bright eyes now a misty gray. What had Dream done to him? "Please don't kill me." he whimpered.

"Kill you?" Techno felt his blood run cold at the words. "Why would I kill you? I... I actually came to take you home."

Tommy rolled his eyes, turning away from Techno. Wiping his nose on his sleeve, he shook his head. "I don't have a home..."

Techno sighed, slowly sitting beside him. "Well now you do."

Tommy still wouldn't look at him, probably thinking the offer sounded too good to be true. "Please just l-leave me. I'm nothing but trouble."

Techno thought for a moment. "I mean... you're not wrong. But I think I enjoy having your trouble around." Folding his hands in his lap, he took a deep breath. "I'm so sorry for everything you had to go through because of him. I should have protected you like I promised."

"It's not like anyone missed me." The blonde huffed.

Techno paused. "I did."

Tommy stared at him, clearly not believing any word he was saying. "I doubt that." He turned towards the coming sunset, trying to relieve the memories he never could.

"I broke the moment I heard you were dead. It was like any light I had once had disappeared out of my body. I-I didn't know what to do with myself. The only reason I'm still alive is because of Phil." Closing his eyes, he hoped that he could stop the tears from coming. But even he knew that was unrealistic at that point. "And-and knowing that Dream did it, made me want to rip his face off. I uh, I was actually planning on doing that still, but I wanted to find you first." Turning to Tommy, he offered a smile. "We're good, aren't we?"

Tommy hesitated, before a small smile appeared on his lips. "I think so big man." He moved closer to Techno, leaning a bit on the older.

Techno wrapped an arm around him. "You're coming home with me." He left no room for arguments of any kind. And for once Tommy didn't argue, instead he smiled at the idea.

And the two brothers sat there for a while, watching the sun as it was swallowed by the earth.
