Red is All I See (Tommy)

Tommy POV

Tommy couldn't remember the last time he had seen Tubbo. It had been far longer than he would have liked. They used to hangout everyday, every moment they could. Exploring and finding crazy adventures. He had plenty of good memories. But he couldn't help but miss those days. Maybe a part of him was hoping they would return.

Walking down the path towards Snowchester, he tried to appreciate the sights around him. Exile had taught him that. You never know when your life might go downhill. But the blonde didn't want to recount those memories. Thinking of them reminded him that Tubbo had sent him there. It was in the past, we're good now, Tommy reminded himself. But there was always a part of him that wondered if forgiving him was a mistake.

Tommy paused when he reached the end of the path. Something was wrong. Taking note of the hair standing up on the back of his neck, he slowed his pace before continuing. Long red vines wrapped around the trees, emitting some kind of a strange particle. The blonde couldn't help but relate it to the particles in the nether. But he didn't want to think about that either.

Afraid to breathe in these strange particles, Tommy wrapped his bandana around his face. He wasn't sure if it actually made a difference, but it made him feel safer. Like somehow he was protected. He continued on cautiously, following the vines. His heart began to sink when he realized how much worse they were in Snowchester. Where did these come from, he wondered. Tommy wandered further in, his eyes widening when he spotting something even more unusual.

The first thing he spotted was people, aquantinces and friends from all across the server stood there in a trance. Puffy, Sam, Karl, Bad, Skeppy, and Punz just to name a few. Even Dream, George, and Sapnap were there. But they didn't seem to be higher than anyone else, or in control. It seemed like everyone was on the same level, staring at what was in front of them. And that only confused him further.

An egg, larger than any normal egg, stood in front of him. Vines shot out of the cracks, glowing a deep red. What was that? He wasn't even sure if he wanted to know. Tracing back over to the crowd, his heart stopped. Not Tubbo, anyone but Tubbo. But there his best friend stood, along with the rest of his family.

It got everyone, he realized with a sickening feeling erupting in his chest. He was about to approach them, maybe try to save them in any way he could. But an arm grabbed him, preventing him from going anywhere. "Wha- Techno?" he froze, conflicting emotions flowing through him. Even if they weren't on the best terms, Tommy was glad to see him.

"We need to get out of here." Was all he said.

"But what about everyone-"

"They're gone." Techno replied, adjusting his pig mask. "I doubt there's anything we can do."

Tommy shook his head, thinking back to Tubbo and all the things he had been planning to do with him. "There must be something we can do!" Even with the older's disapproving look, he wasn't willing to give up hope. "We have to at least try!"

"And what do you think they did?" Techno pointed back towards the group. "We're lucky that thing hasn't infected us too!"

"Why hasn't it?

"It doesn't matter.We need to get out of here before it infects us too! Now come on." Techno grumbled, again turning away. But Tommy didn't budge. And Techno didn't let go. Glaring towards the younger, he growled, "Come on Tommy."

"If you want to go, you'll have to go without me." Tommy exclaimed triumphantly, "I don't know why you care anyways."

"For crying out loud Tommy, we're not roleplaying! This isn't part of the story. We could actually die from that thing and I'm not about to leave you to find out." the pinkette exclaimed, his grip only tightening.

A shiver ran through Tommy. This wasn't part of the script. They were actually in danger. Again he thought back to the others. Knowing this was real only made him feel worse. "But what about-"

"You don't always have to be the hero Tommy."
