Techno POV
"Technoooo I need you to help me!" Wilbur whined, attempting to shove his notebook in his brother's face. He was desperate, he needed Techno's help. No one had a way with words like Techno did.
Techno rolled his eyes, pushing the object away. He flipped another page in his book, ignoring his brother. "I'm not good with lyrics Wil, you know that." he reminded the younger. His eyes went back to reading.
Wilbur groaned, falling back on the couch dramatically. "But you're such a good writer! How can that be possible?!" He just didn't understand. Usually Wilbur would write the lyrics himself, and to be fair, he tried to. But writer's block had poisoned any inspiration he had managed to get. And he had to have the song ready by the next day.
Techno sighed, "As much as I appreciate the compliment, I am trying to read." His fingers tapped the cover, trying to manage the annoyance that coursed through his veins. He never liked when people interrupted his reading.
The brunette's face fell, knowing he had to respect Techno's wishes. He retreated back to the other end of the couch, his pen tapping his leg anxiously. How was he going to do this?
Techno spared a glance towards the younger, hating how sad he looked. With a sigh, he put his book down, knowing he could finish it later. While he couldn't write lyrics very well, he could at least encourage his brother. "Wilbur, you're an amazing song writer. What do you need me for?"
Wilbur closed his eyes, his head tilted towards the ceiling in defeat. "I can't write anything!" he exclaimed, his pen dropping to the floor. He made no attempt to pick it back up, knowing it wouldn't fix anything. "Nothing works... and the deadline is coming so fast!"
The pinkette thought for a moment, his eyes drifting back to his abandoned book. "Well what do you usually do when this happens?" He knew every artist had moments like this, himself included.
"Tommy helps me."
"Tommy helps you?" he repeated, surprised to say the least. He didn't take Tommy as the songwriting type.
Wilbur nodded, a small smile spreading on his face. "He always comes up with some great idea I didn't even think of. But with all his homework lately, he's been really busy." His grin faded as he went back to staring at the ceiling. "I don't want to bother him."
Techno couldn't help but laugh. "You know who you're talking about, right? Tommy is literally your biggest fan, besides me of course. Dad has to drag him away from you to make sure he goes to bed." If Tommy had a choice, he would never leave Wilbur's side. Listening to his brother play and write music was one of his favorite things. He even had a dream of joining the band someday.
Wilbur was silent for a moment, knowing Techno was right. He leaned up, retrieving his pen. "I guess your right."
"I'm always right."
"Shut up!" Wilbur launched a pillow towards the taller, who quickly dodged it.
"You'll never hit me!" Techno threw another pillow in Wilbur's direction, hitting the target perfectly. "If you wish to defeat me, train for another 100 years!" he shouted triumphantly.
The brunette grabbed another pillow, starting a huge pillow fight. The brothers laughed, dodging and hitting each other with pillows. It felt good to do something so harmless and fun. Only one thing could have made it better.
"Tommy?" Wilbur let his pillow drop to the floor.
Techno turned towards the front door where the blonde stood with his head down. Tommy quickly took off his shoes before running towards his room. One look at his face was enough for Techno's heart to shatter. Why did he look so broken?
The brothers barely exchanged a look before jumping off the couch and pursuing their younger brother. Coming to a closed door, Techno softly knocked. "Tommy, you alright?"
There was a second of silence before a shaky voice responded. "Y-yeah." But even he didn't seem sure.
Techno bit his lip, wishing he knew what was wrong. A quick glance at Wilbur and he knew he was thinking the exact same thing. "Can we come in Toms?" he questioned, making his voice as gentle as possible.
"I-I want to be alone." he whimpered, sniffing a bit.
As much as they hated that response, they respected it. The duo sat outside the door, ready for the moment they could comfort their little brother.
"We'll be out here when you need us." Wilbur promised, leaning against the door. He didn't care if it took all night, he wasn't going to leave his brother. Even if that meant not writing his song.
Techno nodded, leaning against his brother. "We're not leaving."
