Episode 12: Once in a Blue Moon

Mew and her friends continue their way to Violet City so Mew can have her gym battle, but today, they've stopped in a pretty little town called Cherrygrove City. It's a perfect day. Clear skies, warm breeze, and a quiet scenery. It's a perfect place to have some lunch. Brock is cooking lunch while Mew polishes her Pokeballs. Jen, Tomo, Meloetta, Skwovet, Amaura, Snubbull, Togpei, and Pichu are playing together

Mew finishes one, "As good as new."

Pikachu then hands Mew the GS ball.

"Thank you, Pikachu," Mew says, and takes the GS ball.

Then Mew polishes it as she says, "Gotta take extra good care of this GS ball."

"I have to admit it, Mew. You've been acting like a much more responsible trainer than usual," Misty says.

"Probably because I've been doing it for some time, and taking note of what I learned. And I learned that Pokéball maintenance is quite important."

"Oh, I quite agree," Misty agrees.

Then Brock calls out, "Hey! Lunch time!"

"Okay," Mew says.

She then quickly put some of the Pokeballs she had out into her bag. Unknown to her, the GS ball falls out and lands on the grass next to the river. Mew walks to Brock without noticing. Pikachu, and the others rush over as well. Just then, Eevee stops to see the GS ball. She walks over to pick it up, but notices a strange Pokmon appear from the water.

Eevee asks, "Eevee?! (Who's there?!)

Mew hears Eevee's voice and asks, "What? Something the matter, Eevee?"

Then Mew spots the mysterious Pokemon, "Look!"

The others turn to see the mysterious Pokemon sticking its head out of the water. The Pokemon is light blue, tiny black eyes and nose, and a wide mouth.

"What is that?" Jen asks.

Mew takes out her Pokedex and Dexter says, "Quagsire, the Water Fish Pokémon. A Water and Ground Type. The Quagsire makes its home in clean, fresh water lakes. The Quagsire is covered by a slippery layer of skin, making this Pokémon especially difficult to handle."

"Wow. Sounds really slick," Tomo says.

"Quagsire's gotta be one of the cutest Pokemon ever!" Misty happily says.

Then the Pokemon says, "Quagsire."

"Hey! I'm gonna catch it!" Misty eagerly says, and brings out her Pokeball.

Suddenly, Psyduck and Wooper come out of his Pokeball on its own, again. Then Psyduck walks over and seems to have a mental connection with Quagsire, until Misty walks in and picks up her Pokemon.

"You can't just stand here all day," Misty says.

Suddenly, the GS ball rolls towards the river, allowing the Quagsire to snatch it.

"The GS ball!" Mew cries out.

Then Quagsire swims away.

Mew calls out, "Wait, you can't take that! Stop!"

Mew then calls out her Pokeball, "Squirtle, bring back that GS Ball before Quagsire gets away!"

Squirtle comes out of the Pokeball and leaps onto Quagsire, preventing it from escaping.

"Nice work, Squirtle!" Mew says.

Suddenly, Squirtle starts to slip on Quagsire's slippery skin.

"Hey, look out!" Mew calls out.
