Episode 139: Walking A Mile in a Pokemon's Paws

Last time, Mew and her friends meet a Pokemon Magician named Lily who wants to cast a spell that can allow someone to read a Pokemon's mind. After helping her collect all the ingredients she needs, Lily tests her magic on Mew, but the spell ends up backfiring, due to the spell actually being uncompleted. Instead of Mew being able to read a Pokemon's mind, it turns her into a Pikachu.

Somewhere in the woods, Mew and her friends are walking down the path to make their way to Blackthorn City. However, Mew is still under Lily's magic spell, and is still a Pikachu.

Brock turns to Mew, "So Mew, how are you feeling?"

"I'm doing okay, but it kind of feels weird about me walking on all fours rather than two. I'm not exactly used to it," Mew says.

"Pika Pikachu," (Don't worry, you'll get used to it.) Pikachu says.

"Thanks Pikachu," Mew says.

"Well, at least you can still talk to Pikachu and the other Pokemon," Misty says.

"And you're still Mew," Jen says.

"Thanks," Mew says.

"Still, I wonder how long it will take for Lily's spell to wear off," Tomo says.

"Well, according to Lily, it's possible that this one will take twenty four hours," Mew answers, "I was a bit uneasy when she told us about it..."

Flashback:

Mew and her friends are ready to head off to continue on their journey and are prepared to say farewell to Lily and Murkrow.

"Well, I must be going. I still have some spells I want to try out," Lily says.

"We wish you luck on it, Lily," Mew says.

"Yes. And again, sorry about the spell not working out," Lily says.

"That's okay. We know you didn't mean to. Besides, maybe being a Pokemon can help me understand what it's like to be one," Mew says.

Lily giggles, "Well, I'm glad you're able to find a good point to it."

"Um Lily, how long do you think it will take until the spell wears off?" Molly asks.

"Well, the spell will wear off in due time. Some will wear off right away, some longer. And since this particular spell is quite a powerful spell, I have to calculate that it might wear off in twenty four hours," Lily explains.

"Twenty four hours?" Brock asks, shocked.

"That means Mew will be a Pikachu for a whole day and night," Jen says.

"Don't worry, I'm sure you all can make the best of it. I believe you all can do it," Lily says.

Mew nods, "Thanks Lily."

"Bye everyone," Lily says and takes her leave.

"Bye Lily," Everyone says, waving goodbye.

Flashback Ends:

"I'm sure I can make the most of it, but it still feels weird that I'm going to be a Pokemon for a while," Mew says.

"Don't worry Mew, I'm sure you can handle it. After being raised by Pokemon for so long, you might actually be considered to be an honorary Pokemon," Misty says.

"You got a point. I lived in the forest as a Pokemon my whole life. I'm sure I can handle being one for one day," Mew says.

"And if you need help you can call your other Pokemon," Misty says, holding out Mew's bag, "I have to admit, it's kind of surprising that your stuff didn't transform with you."
