“Start!!”
As the exam starts, dozens of students from the other schools leap out from behind the rocks and target your classmates. Among them, Shindo and his classmates ready their balls.
“Super strength that wrecks his own body, and ice that can block our attacks! The nails that stick out get hammered down first!!!” Shindo yells. A barrage of balls come flying towards your class, and you launch the move you'd been preparing since you started running.
“Don't forget about the rest of my quirk!!!” You yank the water from the air and create a veil of water around your classmates, blocking most of the balls. The ones that slip past are easily dealt with. Dark Shadow catches several, Midoriya kicks some away, Mina melts more, and Mineta catches a bunch with his grapevine attack. “Everyone!! Don't let them hit you!! Those who don't have a counter for the balls, get in the middle!” You instruct. “Everyone else, guard them!!”
“Stick together!! Let's move!” Your class moves as one in a group, keeping eyes in all directions as you follow Midoriya's lead. You keep a careful eye on Ms. Joke's class, especially Shindo.
Your water veil alongside Mina’s acid veil block most of the attacks, and those that slip through are dealt with swiftly by Tokoyami, Midoriya, and Sero. One of the guys from Ketsubutsu Academy does something to his balls, and tosses them to the long haired guy. He throws them, and you ready your water, but they bury themselves underground.
“Watch out!! They're going underground!” Midoriya shouts.
“Everyone, get back! This is my job!!” Jiro plugs into the amps on her hands as she dashes in front of you and slams her fists into the ground. Her Heartbeat Distortion tears the ground apart, rejecting the balls.
Everyone in your class jumps back to avoid the ground splitting, and as the balls are expelled from under the ground, they turn and lock on to your classmates. “They're going to hit me!!!” Mineta shrieks. Three of them are headed directly for his targets, and Mina swiftly melts them.
At the same time, three close in on Momo, and you blast them with water, freezing them solid as soon as they get wet. “Yaomomo, you okay??”
“Yes! Thank you, Y/n!”
“You saved me, Mina!! Nice move!” Mineta cheers.
“It's a defensive wall that melts everything away!!” She responds.
“You've left yourselves wide open!!” Tokoyami slams Dark Shadow’s hand forward with a ball in his palm. “Black Abyss!!!” He nearly hits the blonde girl from Ketsubutsu, but her body collapses in on itself in a grotesque and sickening crunch.
You cringe in response to her quirk. “Yuck, how do her bones do that?? Where do her organs go???”
Tokoyami looks irritated as he's forced to pull Dark Shadow back, and Mera makes an announcement, stating that no one has passed yet.
“Really? No one?” Midoriya is as surprised as you are.
“Everyone get back!! Their defense is too good!” Shindo shouts and crouches down as he presses his palms to the ground. “We gotta split them up!! Maximum Force: Tremoring Earth!!”
The ground splits as if an earthquake hit, and you're unable to freeze the ground still. "Ah! Crap!!" As you fly into the air away from your classmates, you notice that Shindo is immobilized and alone on the ground. He must get hit by aftershocks!! Thinking quickly, you blast your water veil at him, turning it to ice and yanking him into the air as well. “Two can play at that game!!!”
Your classmates yell as they're separated from you and the rest of the group, and you struggle to figure out where you're going to land. You've lost sight of everyone, even Shindo who you just launched.
“Woah!!! One hundred and twenty examinees are out all at once!!! All taken down by a single fighter!!”
“What?!” You can't stay surprised for long at the announcement as the ground suddenly appears. Not too far away, you see Shindo struggling to get up on the ground, and you blast yourself at him with water. Taking one ball in your hand, you crash into him, and the two of you roll several meters. You struggle against him as he grabs your wrists, and the two of you continue rolling. Suddenly, the ground below you disappears, and with a yelp, you fall down into a dark hole with Shindo underneath you.
Unable to stop the fall, Shindo lands on his back while still keeping a tight grip on your wrists as you land on top of him. “Damn it...!”
"Ow..." Shindo releases one of your wrists to attempt to hit your target with a ball in his hand, but you're able to barely knock his hand away. As you do, he hits your helmet from below, knocking it off of your head. “Ouch...!” Your hair tumbles down into your eyes as you stare down at Shindo, knees on either side of his body. Your eyes catch his bare chest underneath you, and you struggle not to get distracted by how attractive he is. Yanking your other wrist free, you slam your hands down on his wrists, attempting to pin him to the ground.
“Ha! Don't think you can hold me down!” Shindo easily flips you over, reversing your positions. “You know...” He pins your wrists above your head and leans in close to your face as he smirks. “You look even better from this angle.”
Your face flushes red as he says it, and you stop struggling for a moment as you look up at him. “...Huh...?!”
Shindo laughs and narrows his eyes at you. “Didn't expect a girl as pretty as you to be so innocent and naive. That face you're making right now... I want to see more of it...” He slowly brings his hand towards the target on your stomach, hoping he has you distracted enough to not notice.
Oh. My. God. He's hot.
You realize what he's doing, and use your Serpent's Bite to grab his wrist and push him away. “You shouldn't play with a girl’s emotions like that!!” You huff. Your attack allows you to roll him over, and now you're back on top of him. As you try to hit his targets with your Serpent's Bite, he uses his quirk again, causing your entire body to shake, and it ruins the shape of your water, splashing it on to the two of you.
You struggle against him, and due to his quirk, all of the balls you both have roll away deeper into the hole you landed in. Sitting on top of him now, your hands are locked in his as you both fight against each other. Each time you try to use your quirk, he counters with his, but it causes him to be less and less mobile. The two of you are stuck at a stalemate; as soon as one of you gets on top, the other manages to reverse it.
After a few minutes of grappling against each other, Shindo's quirk loosens the ground above you too much, and a large piece of rock tumbles down. He quickly flips you on to your back once more, and shields you with his body to protect you from it. Without thinking, you blast the rock apart using a high pressure stream of water to stop it from landing on him, and your hand tears open. “Ah! Shit...!” A shard of stone grazes your cheek, and it leaves a shallow cut.
“Ha, didn't expect that. Don't think saving me there will get you any mercy.” Shindo grins down at you. His smile falters when he sees the pain you're in as he holds your wrist in the air above you. “Are you okay...?”
Holy crap...! Why is he so hot...?!!
Grimacing and ignoring your inner dialogue, you try to pull away, but it hurts too much, and you yelp in pain. Shindo's eyes widen in surprise as blood trickles down your wrist from under your glove. Taking advantage of his distraction, you blast him in the face from your already bleeding hand, and he is knocked back onto his rear. You struggle to sit up and yank the glove off of your hand with your teeth as you freeze him in place. As quickly as you can, you grab a wad of gauze from your bag around your waist, and cram it into the tear. You barely manage to get your glove back on in time as Shindo breaks free of your ice and snatches a ball from the corner.
“Just sit still already!!”
