Once everything was dealt with, Hawks brought you and his sidekicks back inside the agency. He cleans up the glass, and boards up the broken windows, and you tell him about what happened. How the Nomu appeared out of nowhere, slamming straight into the training room, aiming directly for you. How it tried to drag you away and fly off somewhere. With every word you say, Hawks' hammer slams harder into the nails in the boards.

“Those guys... They really were trying to abduct you again, huh?” He scowls. It's odd seeing him any other way than his usual bubbly self.

“I'm alright though, they didn't seem to be trying that hard.” You say. “Otherwise they would have sent someone stronger. I'm just glad that Dabi didn't show up.” You sigh and sit down on a bench. “I wonder if he was there watching, but didn't make a move because I beat it...”

“No, he wasn't.”

You look up at Hawks, surprised by his confidence. “What makes you so certain?”

“I... Just... Know.” He pauses for a minute and runs his hand through his hair. “That guy isn't stupid enough to show up at my agency. That's all.”

Getting the feeling that Hawks knows more than he's letting on, you decide to probe further. “Is that what you were investigating tonight? Dabi?”

Hawks looks caught off guard for a moment, but then his bubbly attitude is back. “That's confidential, I'm afraid, Penguin. Don't you worry about it. I’m the one who shouldn't have left you alone here...” He sighs. “Well, while my staff are working with the police tomorrow, let's go patrolling around town for the day! The training room is out of order until I can get someone to come and fix it, anyways. We'll see if we can get you solving crime in your costume this time. It’ll be a nice way to spend your last day here before you’re back at school!”

“Okay!” You smile back at Hawks. It’s obvious he doesn’t want to talk about Dabi anymore, but you’re not quite sure why. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

“Now that this is boarded up... Let's go clean up those cuts.” Hawks stands up from where he was crouching and walks over to you, offering you his hand. “I appreciate you waiting for me.”

“No worries. They’re just scratches. I got worse during my licensing exam.” You accept his offer to help you stand up. He leads you over to a first aid kit by the entrance of the training room, and has you sit back down as he washes his hands.

“Still, your teacher would kill me if I let them get infected.” Hawks chuckles and opens the case. He sifts through it for a moment before finding disinfectant wipes. He tosses you a few and continues looking for bandages.

“Thank you.” You tear the wipes open and clean the small cuts on your legs and arms. It stings, but you’ve gotten used to the feeling since starting at UA.

“Here, I’ll get the ones on your face.” Hawks tears open a new one and gently tilts your head to the side. “This one is a bit deep...” He cleans the one on your cheek.

“That one was from when it first broke through the window.” You tell him. His fingers are soft despite the callouses covering them as he cleans the cut.

“You’re lucky it wasn’t a few inches higher. It was close to hitting your eye.” Hawks finishes cleaning it, and he tilts your head once more with his hand. “Looks like the rest are just shallow scratches.” He tenderly wipes the blood and dirt away, taking care not to hurt you.

“That’s good... I didn’t think they were that bad.” You say. Hawks finishes wiping your face, and reaches for the bandages.

“The rest of the scratches should be fine, but I’m going to put these on the deeper one to keep it from scarring, okay?” He holds up butterfly bandages, and you nod. He carefully peels the backings off of them, and gently uses them to hold the cut skin together. Then, he takes a larger bandage and covers it up completely. “There we go! Good as new!” He grins.

You smile back up at him and thank him. “I’m glad that fight went so well. I was really worried when I saw it was a Nomu, but thanks to these new moves, I was able to deal with it without any issues!”

Hawks pulls you back up to your feet. “I'm glad, too. Now, it’s time for you to head to bed, Little Penguin. We have a big day ahead of us tomorrow.”

You wave goodnight to Hawks, and head down the hall to the elevator. Thankfully, your phone and headphones hadn’t been damaged in the attack. When you step inside the elevator, you turn your phone on to see a long list of missed calls, texts, and notifications. “Holy crap...!” The first person you call back is your aunt, who is ecstatic about your successful debut, but worried about the implications of the attack. Hawks had given you the okay to tell your aunt and teacher about the attack, and you reassure her that everything is fine now. After calling her, you call Aizawa who had left you a voicemail telling you to call him back.

The line rings only once when he answers. “Tell me what happened.”

“Hi, Aizawa! Everything is okay! Hawks is going to be sending you and the principal the reports tonight, but the Nomu was definitely after me. We think it was another attempt to kidnap me by the League of Villains. This Nomu was different; it didn’t try to kill me, and was trying to fly off with me. I didn’t even really get hurt. I mean, it tried hitting me hard enough to break some bones at one point, but thanks to the training I’ve been doing with Hawks, I was able to avoid most of the force.”

Aizawa sighs on the other end of the line. “I’m glad you’re alright. We’ll make sure Tsukauchi gets the reports as well. Good job staying calm and dealing with the situation quickly. You may not have been in costume, but you had a good debut. When you come back–”

“Is that Y/n?!” He’s cut off, and you can hear your classmates excited chatter, but it’s hard to tell who’s talking.

“That fight was awesome!!”

“Yeah!! She’s all over the news! Every station is talking about her!”

“Her account is already almost at ten thousand followers!”

“Well, Hawks tagged her on his story! He’s got millions of followers! Not to mention it was on the news!”

“Quiet down! You can all talk to her after!” Aizawa snaps. Your friends quiet down, and he continues. “Yes... Speaking of that account... Who is in charge of it?”

“Oh, I haven’t actually seen it yet. Hawks offered to have his social media manager take care of it for me. I get to choose what gets posted though. He said I just have to send it to him, and he’ll forward it to his manager.”

“Okay, good.” Aizawa says. “Keep it strictly professional. Don’t use it to goof off like our new number two.”

You laugh. “I promise I won’t.”

“Good. Now, your flight back is scheduled for first thing in the morning the day after tomorrow. Make sure you’re not up late tomorrow night. I expect you to be fully awake and participating in class, understood?”

“Of course! Wouldn’t dream of missing it!” You reply. “Hawks and I will be patrolling all day, so I don’t think we’ll be out at all for the night.”

“If you’re interested in being a popular hero, make sure you get noticed in your costume. It’ll give everyone something to remember you by better.”

“I couldn’t keep up with Hawks on patrol today, but tomorrow will be a different story. Keep your eye on the news! You’ll be seeing me there again, sir!” You say happily.

“I’m sure your classmates will know immediately and tell everyone about it, even if it’s in the middle of class. I had to stop by to tell them off because 1B could hear them shouting from their dorm building. They were losing it seeing you on the news. Do me a favour and reply to them; they might explode if you don’t.” He grunts.

With a laugh, you wish your teacher a goodnight and hang up. Mina texts you to say everyone is in the common area waiting to hear all of the details, and you video call her.

“Y/n!!! Tell us everything!!” She exclaims as she answers.

“Well... Where to begin...?”
