174: Time to Study Work For Real!

"Alrighty! We're heading out now! Bye guys, we'll see you in a couple days!" You wave to your classmates who are lounging in the common area. They wave back and wish you and Tokoyami a fun trip. You both head to the airport and have an incredibly easy time navigating your way through thanks to the lack of Hawks' presence. A few people notice you, but it's without interruptions for the most part.

"Hmm... It's cloudy here today. We'll both benefit from the weather." Tokoyami says as you step out into the city.

"Perfect! I'm so excited! We'd better hurry; Hawks will call us slow!" You laugh and start jogging down the sidewalk. "Come on, Tokoyami!"

Tokoyami sighs a little as he watches you grin back at him and take off down the street. He follows after you, jogging as well. The two of you hop on a bus, and soon you're in front of Hawks' agency.

"We're here!" You call as you open the front doors.

Hawks' receptionist looks up as you enter. "Oh! Hawks already headed out on his morning patrol. He said for you two to change into your costumes and contact him through your radio on where to meet him. You can leave your things with me. I'll make sure they get brought to your rooms."

"He didn't even wait for us...?" Tokoyami sighs.

"We'd better hurry then, right, Tokoyami?" You grin and race off towards the bathroom to change, thanking Hawks' receptionist as you run past her. Tokoyami can't help but be slightly amused by your enthusiasm as he heads off to do the same.

When you've changed and dropped your bags off at the front desk, the receptionist stops you. "Oh, before you go... This came in for you, Hydra." She hands you a box.

"For me? What is it?" You take the box and set it down on the counter. Tokoyami leans over it as well, interested in what's inside. It's not very big, and when you open it, there's a small visor helmet inside. "No way!! This must be from Engitech!!"

"Engitech...?" Tokoyami asks.

"He's one of Firetamer's sidekicks! He took over handling my costume! He's crazy good at making things!" You explain as you take it out of the box. It's almost a mix between safety glasses and goggles with a small part that goes on your head. The instructions are on a paper inside the box, and you quickly scan over them.

"Why the change?" Tokoyami asks.

"You remember that guy, Shindo, from Ketsubutsu?" You ask Tokoyami.

"How could I forget..." Tokoyami mutters as he thinks back to watching Shindo shamelessly flirt with you.

"Well, we were texting, and he suggested I change my helmet to something that shows my face off a bit more." You tell him.

"An older boy told you to get rid of your helmet... So you did?" Tokoyami gives you a surprised look. "I didn't think you would be so... Suasible..."

"Sua-what?" You tilt your head at Tokoyami as you put your new headpiece on.

"Easily persuaded..." Tokoyami clarifies. "You shouldn't change important aspects of your costume, especially the ones that are there for safety, just because an upperclassman told you to show off your face."

You can't help but laugh at Tokoyami's serious expression. "Don't worry! My helmet isn't gone. Besides, Hawks is the one who ordered it. He saw Shindo's text and immediately agreed that it would help my popularity if people could see more of my face. Not to mention, the mirrored visor was bad for trying to help that little girl calm down the other day." As you talk, you push a button on the side of it, and the small headpiece rapidly covers your entire head in a helmet.
