"How's your leg?" Nick asked his mother as he took a seat next to her at the kitchen table.

"It ain't the first time I've had a bullet graze me, and it certainly won't be the last either."

"Does it feel any better, at least?"

Amelia looked down at her wrapped leg. "Well, I can walk a little better on it than what I could yesterday, so that's a plus. I'm still limping, though."

Nick snorted. "I ain't surprised. You got grazed with a damn bullet."

"Yeah, I know." She stretched it out with a wince. "I can certainly feel it."

At that moment, the front door opened, and heavy footsteps descended in the house across the living room. Amelia stood with a struggle and began making her way slowly towards where the footsteps had walked. Nick followed her, making sure she wouldn't stumble forward.

"The horses still here?" Amelia asked.

"They're fine." Arthur grumbled, laying his hat down on the coffee table. "Still a little spooked from the other day, but they'll live."

Amelia nodded. "Good."

"Get ready for a night of fun," Erika came inside from the front door with a smile, "Uncle John and Aunt Abigail are here."

Amelia groaned as she plopped down, propping her wrapped leg up on the coffee table. "Lovely." She stuffed a pillow under her leg.

As if on cue, Abigail came through the door, quickly followed by John. They both smiled at the Morgans before Abigails smile quickly disappeared as she glanced down at Amelia's leg.

"What happened?"

"Bullet grazed me when Bill and Javier showed up." She sighed. "Ain't the first and won't be the last."

John shook his head. "I still can't believe they did that."

"All that matters is we got them back." Arthur assured.

"That's true." John replied.

"So," Amelia said as she held out her hands to Nick. He walked over and pulled her to her feet. "Why are you guys here?" She questioned.

"Just to check on you guys," Abigail shrugged, "plus it's been a while since we visited."

"Momma!" Erika jumped up and down from the back of the couch, "can we go see Luke and Rose?"

"In my condition?" Amelia asked with her eyebrows raised.

"Not all of us," she paused, "I figured just me and Nick."

"Again?" Amelia looked over at Arthur.

"Sweetheart, I don't -" Arthur began, but Abigail interrupted.

"A word with you two?" She asked, looking at Amelia and Arthur.

John walked over and helped Amelia to her feet. She swatted him away after she was on her feet and followed Abigail into the kitchen. John scratched the back of his neck and looked between his niece and nephew.

"You two seem to be getting serious with these kids, aren't you?" He said with a light laugh.

Nick smiled and nodded. "We are." He looked over at his sister.

She chewed on her bottom lip before turning away and walking towards her room. Arthur noticed from the doorway of the kitchen.

"Amelia, they're kids. I don't think you should just be okay with letting them spend all this alone time with Luke and Rose."
