Arthur and Amelia woke up early in the morning to tiny knocks on their bedroom door. Arthur groaned as he rolled out of bed. He pulled on a pair of pajama pants as another knock sounded. He walked over to the door and opened it, revealing a six year old Erika. He smiled and picked her up.

"Good morning, Erika."

"Hi daddy."

Arthur placed her on the bed and she crawled over to Amelia. She felt her daughters tiny figure and pulled her close, making Erika giggle.

"Momma wake up!" She shook Amelia's shoulders.

"Who said I'm not awake, huh?" She opened her eyes and starting tickling Erika, making her squirm and giggle. Arthur smiled at the sight of his wife and daughter. He stood and began walking to the door.

"Where you goin?" Amelia asked.

"To see if our son is awake yet." Arthur replied before walking down the hall.

He walked to Nick's room, stepping over toys. He cracked the door open slightly. Nick was still fast asleep, facing the door. He hummed, closing the door. At least Erika didn't wake him. She had a habit of waking him up first.

He walked back towards the bedroom. He walked inside and saw Amelia changing into normal clothes while Erika was preoccupied with a hairpin. He chuckled at how quickly she was entertained with anything.

Once Amelia finished, she walked over to Erika and lifted her up. "Let's go outside and check on the horses while daddy changes, okay?"

Erika nodded her head and the two girls began making their way out to the barn. They had just got into the business of selling horses, although since it was still new to them, Arthur continued working for Mr. Geddes during weekends.

Once he was changed, he put on his black hat and began making his way outside. Although once he opened up his bedroom door, Nick was standing right outside. Arthur jumped, startled by the seven year old.

Arthur laughed as he lifted him up. "I'm getting too old for you to be scaring me, bud."

"Sorry Pa." Nick laid his head on Arthur's shoulder, rubbing his eyes tiredly.

"You're fine." Arthur said with a chuckle. "How about you go get dressed so we can join your Momma and sister outside, alright?" He set him down.

He nodded and returned to his room. About ten minutes later, he came out wearing his own small hat Arthur had bought him. He smiled and took Arthur's hand as they made their way out to join Amelia and Erika.

Arthur lifted his seven year old up onto his shoulders and continued walking out towards the barn. He opened the door and lifted Nick off his shoulders up onto Dukes back.

"When was the last time someone checked the mail?" Amelia asked, shifting Erika to her other hip.

Arthur shrugged. "I can head into town and take a look."

"Can I come?" Erika asked, reaching for her father.

Arthur laughed as he took her from Amelia's arms. "Maybe next time, sweetheart. I'll only be a little bit. Why don't you and Nick stay here and help Mommy with the horses, okay?"

"But I wanna come with!" She whined.

"Next time, Erika. Your Momma needs help here at home more than I do checking the mail."
