After the sun had finally risen the two of us made our way back into the palace.
We walked through the main entrance finding ourselves in the throne room where some of the other Harbingers were gathered.
Childe was the first to notice us. A smirk gracing his face as he noticed I wasn't alone.
"Bad escape attempt huh?" He teased.
"Shut up." I grumbled walking past him.
Capitano gave Childe a nod as we continued toward the lady herself, the Tsaritsa.
She didn't seem too surprised to see the two of us together. A smile danced across her lips. She must have figured out what I had tried to do as well.
"I see I don't need to introduce you two."
"No." Capitano answered for the both of us.
"Very well then. Keep her under your wing. She'll be a useful asset one day."
Capitano nodded and I raised a questioning eyebrow 'a useful asset' thanks lady. I've always wanted to be a 'useful asset'.
She only gave a cold smile before continuing, "I have a new mission for you. I'll have the details ready by tomorrow. The both of you should fare well. I'm expecting results."
"Of course." He spoke.
I remained silent. There was nothing I could say that would change anything. The Tsaritsa was dead set on keeping me around and trying to escape Capitano currently was not an option. So for the meantime I'd play their games.
"Then you're dismissed. Come see me again tomorrow morning and Y/N."
A shiver crawled up my spine.
"Im expecting good things from you."
Her icy eyes started into mine as that fake smile remained plastered on her face.
I could only nod my head slowly feeling the eyes of the others watching.
She was indeed the cryo archon.
"Shall we go?"
Capitano snapped me out of my haze and I nodded my head.
Turning away he began to head toward the entrance once more.
I wasn't sure what it was but that lady... something was off about her.
I looked at her a bit longer before hurrying to catch up to Capitano.
None of the other Harbingers said a word as we left the palace once more.
I followed behind him trudging around in the snow.
I had no idea where we were headed but I would follow him anyway. Wherever we were going it was probably better than being here.
